finalmente i marlins con un po' di aspettative in +...ci avevano abituati a raccogliere quel che c'era senza impegnarsi in trade del genere

Ken Griffey Jr. ai White Sox:

From out of nowhere, the White Sox have acquired Ken Griffey Jr. Ken Rosenthal says the deal awaits Junior's approval. The fit is unclear, as the Sox have Carlos Quentin and Jermaine Dye in the corners and Jim Thome at DH. Perhaps they'll try Griffey at first base?

Secondo me con Griffey hanno il potenziale della squadra campione 2005.

Ho capito, ma quindi Griffey accetterebbe un ruolo da back-up?
Oppure il back-up lo farà Swisher che gli è costato Gio Gonzalez e Fautino de los Santos?
Rimango perplesso...

probabilmente metteranno griffey cf, swisher 1B e konerko backup...non ci può essere un' altra spiegazione

Here's what I know about the status of this deal, as of this morning:

• An official of one of these three teams placed the odds of this getting done today at "50-50."

• Multiple sources have said that outfield prospect Mike Stanton is not in this trade, although Boston asked for him and Pittsburgh has been insisting on a prospect of his caliber, in addition to Jeremy Hermida and other prospects.

• Despite reports that left-handed reliever John Grabow would wind up in Boston, indications are that he would actually go to the Marlins if this trade gets done.

• The status of Marlins pitcher Ryan Tucker (recently sent back to the minor leagues to be converted to the bullpen) remains uncertain. Tucker, according to a baseball man who has spoken to the teams involved, is still a name that's "in play."

According to ESPN's Peter Gammons, the Marlins have acquired lefty reliever Arthur Rhodes for 22 year-old righty Gaby Hernandez. The Fish acquired Hernandez in '05 for Paul Lo Duca. Hernandez is a solid return for Rhodes, even if he struggled in a Triple A stint this year. He spent some time on the DL this year with a left intercostal strain.
