No, non il più grande di sempre in assoluto. Il più grande di sempre per voi. A volte si rimane folgorati da un giocatore senza che questo sia per forza Ted Williams o Sandy Koufax.

Insomma, il vostro giocatore preferito. Aspetto con ansia il post di joe che fornirà una motivazione da brividi

Sono indeciso. Il tifo per i Red Sox mi porterebbe a dire Williams. Hitter magnifico, bandiera della squadra, pilota in due guerre, un uomo con un talento di base quasi mai visto... Però credo che alla fine voterei per Gehrig. Da un punto di vista prettamente sportivo, un fenomeno anche lui. Meno dotato nel complesso, ma la striscia di incontri consecutivi disputati è qualcosa di allucinante, soprattutto perchè non inseguiva il record come ha poi fatto Ripken Jr. Il discorso pronunciato nel giorno dell'addio mi mette i brividi ancora adesso. È raro che un uomo di così grande successo sappia accettare con dignità il suo destino, accontentandosi di quanto fatto fino a quel momento. Il confronto con le star capricciose di oggi è imbarazzante. Quindi, da tifoso Sox, mi "tocca" scegliere The Iron Horse, il mitico numero 4 degli Yankees.

Darryl Strawberry. Perchè faceva parte degli Yankees di metà anni 90, quando ho cominciato a seguire il baseball e gli Yankees. E comunque anche diversi giocatori di quella grande squadra (Mattingly, Brosius, Girardi, Knoblauch, tanto per citarne alcuni).

Satchel Paige giocatore di colore che purtroppo per la stupidita' del uomo potrebbe giocare in MLB solo a

Prima contraddizione.
Io amo una squadra, ma devo riconoscere che la squadra è un'entità formata da giocatori - che essendo uomini fanno degli sbagli e - alle volte - cambiano persino squadra. Magari da Boston vanno agli Yankees. Ma non dei comprimari come Mike Stanley, parliamo di idoli come Wade Boggs, Johnny Damon, Roger Clemens.

Quindi diventa pericoloso scegliere un giocatore in attività. Potrei andare con Tim Wakefield, classe, semiritirato.

Ma la scelta non è così semplice.
