Pensi ad una stagione da seguire con enorme interesse nella speranza di arrivare ai PO e dopo una notizia così ti trovi già a fare i calcoli sulla wild card maledetta.

I Mets hanno avuto problemi sparsi lo scorso hanno oggi sono naturalmente i favoriti perchè hanno comprato l'Ace per eccellenza altri problemi però continuano ad esserci, probabilmente prenderanno ancora qualcuno per aggiustarsi.

sabathia mi sembra tutto tranne che già rinnovato...ora santana allungherà con i mets e l'anno prossimo CC sarà il miglior pitcher sul mercato dei FA...motivo in più per rifiutare il rinnovo con cleveland e sondare il mercato per il contratto più alto possibile...

I tifosi Yankee prima di tutto mi sembra che NON siano contenti che non sia andato da loro.

Comunque che sia andato ai Mets è sicuramente il male minore rispetto a un trade ai Redsox.

Vederlo di casa allo Shea stadium comunque non è neppure bello.

Non proprio. Il tipo contratto che noi gli abbiamo offerto è abbastanza chiaro. Shapiro NON darà mai e poi mai, e più che giustamente, più di 6 anni di contratto a nessun pitcher. I nostri parametri sono Oswalt, Peavy e Zambrano. Indipendentemente da Santana se CC vuole restare bene, 20 milioni all'anno per 4 o 5 anni ci sono, se vuole monetizzare di più: ciaociao. Non penso che l'affare Santana possa influenzare più di tanto noi, più che altro potrebbe influenzare chi lo vorrà, e soprattutto potrà, firmare da FA (se ci arriva) l'anno prossimo, ovvero ienkii e Redsox.

In soldoni: Quando un giocatore viene messo nelle "waivers" tutte le altre 29 squadre possono prenderlo ed offrigli un contratto. Se nessuna lo fa il giocatore torna alla squadra originaria che ne fa quello che vuole.
Quindi si dice che uno "clear waivers", quando un giocatore passa indenne dai tre giorni di waivers.

in poche (edit: e ormai inutili) parole:

c'è un periodo di tempo (una settimana?) per tutte le altre squadre di "pinzare" il giocatore che si destina in AAA ed ' out of options, ovvero ci è già stato mandato il massimo delle volte.

se nessuno lo fa il giocatore ha passato indenne i waivers (has cleared waivers) e viene spedito in AAA.

se qualcuno lo "scieglie" il giocatore è trasferito, ma deve restare nel roster major obbligatoriamente.
se ciò non avviene il giocatore viene restituito alla squadra dalla quale è stato pinzato.
