Chiedo a voi tifosi cosa ne pensate, dato non ho visto abbastanza partite dei Celtics per filtrare questo pezzo, anche se tendenzialmente potrei essere d'accordo.
Simmons è quasi sempre piacevole da leggere, ma spesso non troppo preciso ed obiettivo, soprattutto se ci sono di mezzo amori (Boston, quindi Celtics, Patriots, Red Sox, etc.) e rivali storici (Lakers, Colts, Yankees e così via).

ma, non so... Simmons sui C's ci è andato spesso giù duro... anche nelle finali 2008 dava strafavoriti i Lakers... detto questo, sheed ha fatto proprio una pessima stagione... in una squadra che gli ha permesso il più delle volte di essere libero fuori dalla linea dei 3 punti ha chiuso il 2010 col 28% da 3... una % ridicola... ha preso pochissimi rimbalzi e in difesa avrà giocato sì e no 10 partite... è vero, sul singolo possesso può essere ancora decisivo ma un incontro intero concentrato non glielo si vede fare da tempo... e in aiuto è stato veramente pessimo... non so cosa pensare, non mi è mai sembrato un freddo nei momenti che contavano, però speravo che potesse dare di più... vedremo ai PO, ma non mi faccio illusioni... e comunque il problema dei C's non è Sheed, come ha detto Rivers un paio di settimane fa: AT THE END OF THE DAY, YUO WANT PIERCE AND GARNETT PLAY THEIR BEST... se questi 2 giocano al meglio abbiamo delle chance, altrimenti si fa notte!

Interessante però non sono d'accordo quando dice:

Sono stato il primo a dire che il problema dei C's, così come quello dei Pistons dopo aver vinto l'anello, sia stato l'illudersi di poter accendere e spegnere a proprio piacimento, tuttavia non credo che questo sia dipeso dall'arrivo di Sheed. Semplicemente penso sia fisiologico un calo in un team dall'età media elevata e che è già arrivato fino in fondo e che quindi non ha più il fuoco della prima stagione con i big-three, quando i canestri del garden tremavano (letteralmente) per l'energia che la squadra trasmetteva a tutto il palazzetto.

Spero di rivedere (anche grazie a Sheed) quell'energia nei PO, troppo riduttivo ricondurre i problemi di Boston al rendimento di Mr.Wallace io vedo soprattutto difficoltà nell'amalgama di giocatori come Daniels e Robinson che, almeno nei piani sarebbero dovuti essere uomini chiave uscendo dalla panca. Quisy soprattutto è ormai definitivamente sottomarinato.

Bè a me sembra che gli si dia troppa importanza a Sheed in questo pezzo...

Certo il suo rendimento è stato al di sotto delle attese fin qui,ma se i Celtics vogliono avere una chance l'uomo chiave non è Wallace ma Garnett...

Intanto, visite mediche permettendo, a breve dovrebbero essere firmati il lungo Tony Gaffney e la guardia Oliver Lafayette.

E poi è già la seconda volta in stagione che gli capita! Se non ricordo male pure con gli heat, nella vittoria con l'incredibile canestro di Rondo allo scadere, gli era successo

Si parla di un addio di Doc Rivers a fine stagione..

BOSTON -- Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers called a report of his possible departure after this season "old news" and stressed that his family has not had a single conversation about his future as a head coach in Boston or anywhere else.

Responding to a Boston Herald report that suggested Rivers was leaning toward retirement at the end of this season, Boston's sixth-year coach said that he goes through the same process each offseason and that this year would be no different.

"It's what I've said for the last three years, that is what I told [the Herald]," Rivers said Wednesday before the Celtics' regular-season finale against the Milwaukee Bucks at TD Garden. "It's old news, it really is. I don't think about it, to be honest. Every summer I do the same thing: I go home, get away from it for a while, and make a decision. It's no different than last summer or the summer before that. I was a little amused at the question because I thought it was old news.

"I haven't thought about it. I don't think about it. If you thought about it after every game, you'd go a different way each time. If you win, you think you can do this forever; when you lose it's, 'Man, I think I'm leaving.' It's human nature.

"Other than that, as a family, we haven't talked about it. It's what I said [Tuesday], it's a non-issue for me now. Obviously a lot of people outside have made a lot of conclusions on what I'm thinking. I always thought I was the best source."

The Herald report suggested that with three seniors -- two in college, one in high school -- Rivers could be tempted to step down, particularly on the heels of a frustratingly inconsistent season and with the Celtics potentially in rebuilding mode.

There is the possibility the Big Three could be broken up after this season, with Ray Allen's contract up and questions about the durability of aging stars Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.

But Rivers stressed he hasn't even begun the process of determining his future.

"Maybe we won't," Rivers said when asked about the possibility of the team being reconstructed this coming offseason. "We haven't gone down that road, it hasn't been discussed as an organization. I think there are lot of assumptions being made that aren't there yet. Time will tell."

The report in the Boston Herald cited sources that said Rivers is leaning toward leaving the Celtics after the season primarily for family reasons.

Rivers' son Jeremiah will be a senior on the Indiana basketball team this fall. His daughter, Callie, will enter her final season as a volleyball star at Florida. And son Austin, an elite basketball prospect, will be entering his senior year in high school.

"Part of it is true," Rivers told the Herald. "Every year I sit down in the middle of the summer and I have a family discussion. We talk about what we want to do. That's nothing new, but every year it gets stronger and stronger. And I think people are making some common-sense reads. I've got three seniors next year, two in college and one in high school. That's important to me. We're all family men. We all have kids.

"Every year you've got to weigh what's best for your kids. That's just the way it is. But, I don't get into it now. I don't talk about it. I've never told anyone one way or the other, and that's how it's always been."

Rivers has one year remaining on his contract and said he told general manager Danny Ainge he didn't want to discuss a possible extension.

"Danny already brought it up, and I told him I didn't want to talk about it," Rivers told the Herald. "Danny came to me early in the year, and I said I didn't think it was fair to the players for the coach to be talking about his contract during a season. He said, 'Well, I think we need to do something,' and I said, 'Well, we've got all summer.
