Re: Blazers in the Rose -Buona fortuna Brandon-

Re: Blazers in the Rose -Buona fortuna Brandon-
He is not selling the team, is hoping to have a new general manager in place by the June 28 NBA draft and wants to get the Trail Blazers “back on a path to being a top echelon team,” but in a manner that is financially “judicious” and “sustainable.”
Those are some of the highlights of a 1,140-word commentary written by Blazers owner Paul Allen and posted on the team’s website Tuesday. The piece features Allen's most expansive comments on the Blazers since the team's March 15 franchise-changing moves that included firing coach Nate McMillan and trading two starters.
Allen begins by calling the 2011-12 season “one of the most disappointing years I’ve had in my 24 seasons as owner” of the Blazers, then after portraying some of the team’s setbacks and disappointments, declares that “this is the start of a new chapter in Trail Blazers basketball.”
Allen writes that March 15 was one of the “busiest days” the team has ever had, but it gave the Blazers salary cap room and “flexibility to sign free agents this summer,” as well as potentially four picks on what is considered a strong draft class.
“Going into next season, it’s a priority for us to improve defensively, to play better and more consistently, and to win on the road,” Allen writes.
As for the general manager spot that has been open since he fired Rich Cho last May 23, Allen writes that he is seeking a executive who has what he terms a “golden gut” -- someone excels a player evaluation by “weighing the intangibles, from character to medical issues, and all the risks involved.”
When the Blazers fired Cho, a reason team president Larry Miller gave was a lack of personal chemistry with Allen, and the owner said that will be a factor in hiring a permanent GM. But while Allen says there have been times he pushed hard to obtain some players – he names LaMarcus Aldridge, Wesley Matthews, Joel Freeland, Sergio Rodriguez, Armon Johnson and Patty Mills as examples – he says generally, personnel decisions “should come to me as recommendations from the GM and president.”
Allen adds that he has been in remission from cancer for two years and he does not intend to sell the team, as some commentators have speculated he might.
“Let me be clear and repeat what I’ve said before: The team is not for sale,” he writes. “I’m working hard to get this team back on track. No offers have been made to buy the team and none have been solicited.”
Dalle parole passa ai fatti mr Allen!

Bower per quel che mi riguarda sarebbe una scelta abbastanza discutibile...
il ritorno di Roy totalmente inutile...oltre che a fregarci il cap

Simmons
The Portland organization was pretty screwed up these last five years. They fired Kevin Pritchard and Tom Penn out of nowhere. Hired Rich Cho, they fired him after a year. Last year, they didn't even really have a GM, they had an Acting GM. Now they are looking for a GM. People don't even -- normally when a GM job is open, people jump at it. In this case, people are afraid to even talk with them because the feeling is owner Paul Allen has lost his marbles a little bit. Larry Miller and these people running the team haven't really run the team that well.

Re: Blazers in the Rose -Buona fortuna Brandon-

Re: Blazers in the Rose -Buona fortuna Brandon-
Proprietario e dirigenza dovrebbero farsi un esame di coscienza sui clamorosi errori fatti in passato tipo Pritchard Penn e Monty Williams.... ma non lo ammetteranno mai e poi mai e ora cercano di rimediare.... mah...
