there are a couple of teams (*cough* albi *cough*) that don't even have one.

The same went for Boston until the deadline, when their former GM reacquired the 1st rounder that then ended up being the 1st overall, so you should be more than happy with that lol.

As for the deep draft, keep in mind we are not only fishing out of the 2010 NHL draft:
"Any player that has played less than 10 NHL regular season games and born before September 16th 1990 is eligible for the 2008 Entry draft.
The date cut-off will become "born before September 16th 1991" for the 2009 NHL Entry draft (and so on..), whereas the NHL regular season games limit will remain the same."

So that means that any free player with less than 10 NHL regular season games and born before September 16th 1992 is eligible for our 2010 Entry draft.

hopefully i'll find a way to trade for a 2nd or 3rd rounder, i see that a lot of teams have a few of each

those picks didn't came for free for those teams though..
but you know, i'm confident as soon as you make your 1st overall available those picks will come to you,
for example here in New York we are ready to give you our 1st, 2nd and 3rd for your 1st overall  :D

in passato mi pareva di aver visto che le pick di SJ erano 8, come riporta ora il sito, poi però quando avevo ricostruito l'ordine qui sul forum me ne erano venute fuori solo 7. Facile siano davvero 8, ma bisogna verificarne il percorso.

Explanation follows:
There are 2 LA 2010 3rd round picks. Why? One is standard LA 3rd rounder, the other has been created as compensation from Pittsburgh for Ryan Callahn during RFAs. Pitts gave up his 2011 3rd that become a new Los Angeles 2010 3rd rounder (that doesn't depend from LA ranking but is by default a mid round pick!).

Quote the rules for RFA compensation:
"What happens if the signing team doesn’t hold the aforementioned compensatory picks:
in place for the missing pick, the team receiving compensation will get a mid-round pick (the 9th pick) in the
correspondent round. The offering team will have such pick (same round) removed from the following year draft. In case it doesn't hold that one either, the pick will be taken away from the round above (so pay attention to this before making RFA offers!) in the same year draft, or in the next one if not available. "

So:
- Denver's got L.A. 3rd (from compensation) -> 9th pick in 2010 3rd round.
- San Jose'/California's got STANDARD L.A. 3rd
