Cleveland, Ohio -- Fan response to the retro wine-and-gold Cavs colors and logos are behind the team's move to "update" by retrodrating the Cavs' primary and secondary logos.

A Cavs release today about the changes say the color shifts --  to a deeper wine and brighter gold -- "are truer to the hues that were a part of the team's history from 1970-1983."

"The response from our fans related to our classic uniforms and merchandise has been tremendous over the last several seasons, especially our original wine and gold color mix items. As a result, we're very excited to bring the spirit of the original expression of wine and gold into our brand full-time for the future," said Tracy Marek, the Cavaliers senior vice president of marketing.

The team will incorporate the color updates into all of their branding and graphics, including new uniforms for the upcoming 2010-2011 season. The new uniforms will debut later this summer

Spiegazione semplice e sprigativa:

quella è propio una spada da Cavalier , i cavalieri che credo abbia in mente tu(quelli con armatura e spadone) in inglese vengono chiamati Knights.

Jalen Rose reports from his sources that LeBron James will almost certainly not return to the Cavaliers as a free agent.

Rose lists the Bulls, Heat and Clippers in parentheses, presumably James' likeliest destinations.

Se non sta facendo il pirla, qualcosa trama di sicuro... ;)

di sicuro questo si legge oggi...

Cleveland also received inquiries from several teams about point guard Mo Williams. One of those teams was Portland, which also rejected an offer of a high first-round pick – believed to be Minnesota’s fourth selection – for swingman Nicolas Batum. According to sources, the Cavs are not aggressively seeking to trade Williams but are listening to offers. CBSSports.com

Una cosa veloce: ma James deciderà esattamente l'1 luglio dove andare? (nel senso che non può farlo oltre?)

According to a source that spoke with RealGM, representatives of LeBron James have denied the report from Jalen Rose on Wednesday which claimed that James was almost certain to leave the Cavaliers.
James' representatives insisted that no decision of any sort has been made and stated that the report from Rose is inaccurate.
On his Twitter page, Rose reported that James has all but decided to depart Cleveland and had whittled his likely destinations down to Chicago, Miami and the Clippers. The report omitted the Knicks as a candidate.

Cleveland Cavaliers receive permission to talk to Los Angeles Lakers assistant Brian Shaw

CLEVELAND, Ohio — While the Lakers wait on Phil Jackson to decide on his future, it appears they could be considering the same coaching candidates as the Cavaliers.

The Cavs have received permission to interview Lakers assistant and are expected to do so next week. Shaw and Byron Scott, who is the Cavs' frontrunner to replace Mike Brown and had a face-to-face interview with the team last week, are expected to be the top candidates to replace Jackson if he retires.

Shaw is well-liked by Lakers players and is believed to be Jackson's choice to take over if he decides to retire. Scott is believed to be liked as a potential coach by Lakers primary owner Jerry Buss and minority owner Magic Johnson.

According to a source, however, Scott has not had formal contact with the Lakers about the job as Jackson mulls his options. The Cavs have not formally offered the job to Scott but perhaps are considering doing so before the Lakers have an opening.

The Cavs like Scott for his experience, as he has taken part in seven NBA Finals as a player and a coach. But Shaw also fits their criteria after being schooled in the Lakers' strong defensive system.

The Cavs hope to have a coach before the start of free agency Thursday. Jackson may stretch out his decision on retiring past that date. That may give the Cavs a chance to make an offer to their preferred candidate before the Lakers get to that stage.

The Cavs are also believed to have interviewed Milwaukee Bucks' assistant coach Kelvin Sampson. But at the moment it appears Scott and Shaw may be at the top of the team's list. So there's a chance one of them could be offered the job by Thursday.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cavaliers are in the homestretch of their coaching search. Or, at least they hope so.

After being granted permission last week and then setting up the plans over the weekend, the Cavs welcomed Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Brian Shaw to town for what is expected to be a two-day interview on Monday. According to a source, Shaw is planned to be the final candidate to interview in person.

Sources also indicate the Cavs want to have a coach hired by Thursday, when LeBron James will officially enter free agency.

A source close to James has confirmed he plans to meet with as many as six teams in the first two days of free agency after officially passing on his $17.1 million option for next season. While James has met with the Cavs several times since the end of the regular season, including a sit down with owner Dan Gilbert less than two weeks ago, the team would likely want the new coach to meet with James.

In sticking with his plan on staying out of the coaching search, James does not plan on talking to Shaw -- just as he's not talked to candidates Tom Izzo and Byron Scott.

The Cavs have held in-person interviews with a handful of candidates during their month-long search -- including with Izzo, who turned the job down, and Scott. The fact that the Cavs have continued their search illustrates the care in which they are taking in the process.

Because Shaw is the last person in doesn't necessarily mean he's emerged as the top candidate. There is no doubt the team is intrigued by Shaw and have already done a fair amount of background research before setting up his visit.

But with no previous head coaching experience at any level, Shaw's interview with General Manager Chris Grant and owner Dan Gilbert will likely hold extra importance. Shaw has been an assistant with the Lakers for five seasons after a 14-year playing career with the Lakers, Celtics, Heat, Magic, Warriors and 76ers.

Especially interesting to the Cavs' front office will likely be Shaw's views on how the complex triangle offense, which Shaw learned playing for and then coaching with Phil Jackson over the last decade, might work for the Cavs and James. Or how it might not.

However, there's another Jackson element in play. The Lakers' legend is considering retirement and may not give the team an answer until the end of the week. If Jackson steps down, Shaw will be an immediate candidate to take over. So will Scott, who the Cavs have spoken with in depth on at least three occasions.

Balancing the potential of coaching the two-time defending champs or taking over the Cavs may become a tough choice for Scott or Shaw. It could mean the Cavs still won't be able to move at their desired timetable.

In an interview with Yahoo! Sports on Monday, Scott said he's interested in the Cavs job and not waiting on Jackson or James.

"I'm not sitting and waiting on Phil Jackson," Scott told Yahoo. "That ain't me. I'm not waiting on anybody. I would coach [in Cleveland] without LeBron. But they got a good shot at getting him back."
