Le prossime due settimane sono forse le più importanti della storia (quantomeno recente) dei Nets. Martedì l'ufficialità di Prokhorov come nuovo owner e il 18 la lottery. Per il coach ora il favorito mi sembra Tom Thibodeau dato che Van Gundy ha smentito le varie voci che si erano fatte sul suo conto.

Habemus Prokhorov

Mikhail Prokhorov, one of the world's richest men and a former Soviet Army soldier, was approved as the Nets' principal owner Tuesday.

The NBA Board of Governors voted approval in an email ballot, putting him one step and one day from control of the team. The vote officially sanctions the transfer of the team from Bruce Ratner's Nets Sports and Entertainment to Prokhorov's Onexim Sports and Entertainment Holdings USA. Prohorov is the first Russian and first European to own a North American professional sports franchise as well as the first foreign owner in the NBA and its 14th billionaire owner.

He is also the most interesting man in the world. In his statement, Prokhorov promised Nets fans, "I intend to give you plenty to cheer about."

Once the deal between he and Ratner closes Wednesday, he will control 80% of the Nets, 45% of Barclays Center in Brooklyn and hold an option to buy up to 20% of the overall Atlantic Yards at a discounted price. In return, Ratner receives $200 million in cash. Prokhorov also agreed to pay off up to 80% of the team debt--around $175 million, and fund up to $60 million in team losses while it remains in New Jersey. Ratner's company, which will build Barclays Center, says the Nets will move into the Brooklyn arena for the 2012-13 season but admits the schedule is tight. In the meantime, it will play at the Prudential Center in Newark after spending 29 years at the Meadowlands.

Ne abbiamo passate tante, certo non sono così vecchio da aver assistito alla CBA, o a Petrovich, o ai giorni con SamIAm e Marbury, ma dopo 10 anni di alti (pochi) e bassi (sob, non proprio pochi), abbiamo un Paperon de Paperoni che adora il basket, che già si rivolge ai tifosi promettendo questa rivoluzione (russa). E non è uno che spara balle a quanto pare.

Parliamone..Non mi sembra che siano moltissime le squadre ad essere arrivate alle Finals in questo decennio, e voi siete tra queste(proponendo in quel periodo un gioco godibilissimo)

LOLLETE Jason, ne parlavo neanche un'ora fa con un amico. Immaginavo la scena di lui alla lottery che dietro le quinte dice a Stern: "Allora quanti ne vuoi? 3 pippi? 5? 10 va bene DA?! :D Ormai si può sognare, costa poco e se pure costasse tanto ci pensa il nostro presidente a pagare :D
