Philadelphia         IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
Moyer(W, 4-2) 9.0 2 0 0 0 5 0 4.38    con un totale di 105 lanci

siamo 18W 11L

Record-setting Moyer fires two-hit shutout
Phils lefty, 47, oldest hurler to record complete-game blanking
Jamie Moyer stood in the middle of the Phillies' clubhouse late Friday night at Citizens Bank Park, his left shoulder wrapped in ice, and talked about becoming the oldest pitcher in baseball history to throw a shutout, when at 47 years, 170 days old, he threw a two-hitter in a 7-0 victory over the Braves.

"Cool," he said.

Just cool?

"Just doing my job."

Moyer downplayed the accomplishment, but what a remarkable moment in front of a sellout crowd that seemed to understand the rarity of the performance. Phil Niekro had been the oldest pitcher to throw a shutout when he threw one for the Cleveland Indians against the Minnesota Twins on July 25, 1987, at 46 years, 188 days old.

Satchel Paige had been the oldest non-knuckleball pitcher to accomplish the feat, when he pitched for the St. Louis Browns and threw a 12-inning shutout against the Detroit Tigers at 46 years, 75 days old.

Manuel: Lidge returning to closer's role
Righty set after non-save outings; Romero working way back

Phils' Castro day-to-day with ligament strain
PHILADELPHIA -- Phillies infielder Juan Castro has a mild ligament strain in the back of his left knee, an MRI exam revealed on Friday.
Castro, who has been playing shortstop while Jimmy Rollins is on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right calf, said he was pleased with the result of the test and is considered day-to-day.

Manuel won't manage on Saturday
Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said he will miss Saturday afternoon's game against the Braves at Citizens Bank Park for personal reasons.
He said after batting practice Friday that it is not health-related.
"I'm fine," Manuel said. "It's not my health."

IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
Durbin, C        2.0 0 0 0 0 4 0 1.72
Contreras       1.0 0 0 0 0 1 0 0.84
Lidge(S, 1)     1.0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2.70    due flyout lunghissime!

e con gli hr! HR: Polanco (5, 2nd inning off Kawakami, 0 on, 2 out), Werth (7, 3rd inning off Kawakami, 0 on, 1 out), Victorino (7, 7th inning off Kawakami, 0 on, 1 out).

San Francisco IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
Wilson, B(S, 7) 1.2 1 0 0 0 5 0 2.19

continuano gli infortuni

Catcher Schneider lands on disabled list
Backstop likely to be ready soon, but Phils needed insurance
he Phillies placed catcher Brian Schneider on the 15-day disabled list on Sunday, adding to their growing list of injured players.
The good news is Schneider, who suffered a mild strain in his lower left leg in Saturday's game, said he believes the injury will not force him to miss more than a week of baseball activity.
The team called up catcher Paul Hoover from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to replace Schneider on the roster. The club also transferred reliever Ryan Madson to the 60-day DL to make room for Hoover on the 40-man roster.
