Poz su Betancourt.

The Royals have now acquired four — count them FOUR — players off the 2005 Seattle Mariners. They’ve got Meche, Bloomquist, Miguel Olivo and Betancourt. It’s like they are trying to rebuild that 69-93 team brick-by-brick. Call Richie Sexson’s agent!

According to Fangraphs, only eight players with at least 200 plate appearances have a lower Wins Above Replacement rating than Francoeur's -0.6 (yes, negative). One of those, naturally, is Yuniesky Betancourt.

Betancourt, in fact, ranks fourth-worst, ahead of only Brian Giles (whose career is, if not dead, then cryogenically frozen), the overmatched Emmanuel Burriss…and – I have to laugh – Jose Guillen.

In questo momento, i Royals hanno 2 dei peggiori 4 giocatori MLB dell'anno. Jose "ti trascino la franchigia" è il peggiore... neanche Betancourt raggiunge quei livelli.

The guy can’t hit, he can’t field, his performance has been going backwards for the past two years – and it turns out that he can’t be bothered to get better. Just remember that in case anyone brings up the fact that Dan Cortes was arrested for drunken disorderliness in Arkansas last week.

(Maybe part of the rationale for this trade is that the Royals are trying to send a message to their minor league players: don’t embarrass the organization. That’s the front office’s job.)

I suppose this day was inevitable, ever since we learned that early in his tenure, Moore offered the Mariners Billy Butler for Betancourt straight up. Mariners GM Bill Bavasi, bless his heart, turned the trade down.

Ah leggo con piacere che c'è pure Brian Giles, quello che fine ad inizio Aprile era più forte di quella sega di Ryan Braun... :lol2:

beh se dici a Brauna di mettere una firma per raggiunge i numeri di Giles a fine carriera lui ce la mette eh...che poi abbia 78 anni e ginocchia da 97 enne è un'altro conto...

Insomma quello che tutti sospettavano :D

Record 37-51 all'All Star game, stagione praticamente andata. Mentra ancora mi chiedo perché abbiamo preso Betancourt, sacrificando un buon prospetto come Cortes.
Ma non esisteva in un AAA di qualche squadra un discreto prospetto shortstop migliore del cubano, se proprio si era intenzionati a dare via Cortes?

Per la terza sera consecutiva il bullpen la perde nell'ottavo. ci deve essere qualche strano motivo per cui Hillman non inserisce Soria prima del nono per fargli fare uno o due out in piu. Non lancia da una settimana credo che sia bello riposato
Pessimo, spero davvero di non vederlo a KC nel 2010

When Royals outfielder José Guillen goes off, as he did Monday afternoon, he seldom minces words. That didn’t change simply because he chose to go off on the guy in the mirror.

“I hate making excuses,” he said. “If I suck, then I suck. And I suck. That’s the way I’m playing. If you suck, you suck. You have to take responsibility in this game. Right now, that’s the way I feel.

“Yes, I suck.”

Guillen carries a .243 average into Tuesday’s double-header against the Los Angeles Angels at Kauffman Stadium. He also had just nine homers and 37 RBIs in 76 games.

That’s far too little production, he readily admits, for a guy pulling down $36 million in a three-year contract that runs through next season.

“I’m embarrassed by the money that I making,” Guillen said, “and playing the way I’ve been playing. I’ll swear that on my kids’ (lives). I feel very embarrassed.

“Sometimes, I feel I should take money out of my own pocket and buy tickets for every fan. Because you know what? For a $12 million man, these are not the numbers you should be expecting. I admit it. I’m not playing to my potential.”

Tiriamo su il topic (almeno quello).

Caro il mio Kromfel,anche questa stagione ormai è definitamene andata a remengo.
Non so perchè ,non basandomi su molti principi tecnici, ma ero convinto che in questa annata ci sarebbe stato qualcosa di positivo e saremmo arrivati alla soglia della fatidica media .500.
Invece la mia previsione (speranza più che altro) si sta dimostrando infelice,arrivato lo sweep con gli Angeli e L consecutive diventano 9.

Il record parla di 37-57 quindi un bel ventello sotto cinquecento e di questo passo tra un pò ci sorpasseranno anche gli irresistibili Indians (non me ne voglia Webba) di questa stagione.

Tristezza.
