Atlanta figured to be the prime trading partner for the Padres, as they are actively seeking a front-line starting pitcher and Peavy is from nearby Alabama. But Braves GM Frank Wren said Thursday that the Braves are "looking to the future when that next wave of talent arrives in Atlanta"

The Cardinals, once considered a good trading partner, are apparently out of the Peavy sweepstakes, as are the Astros, who don't have the inventory of prospects or the Major League-ready talent the Padres would command in return for Peavy.

The Dodgers and Cubs, who have also had preliminary talks with the Padres, could also be considered, though Towers isn't too keen on the idea of seeing Peavy in Dodger blue, especially since the division rivals face each other 18 times per season.

Appunto, con quello che hanno chiesto ai Braves... praticamente una squadra intera.

Towers vuole più di quanto ha avuto Beane per Haren. Tantissimo!

Dai primi rumors mi sa che Peavy non si muoverà prima di fine gennaio/febbraio....ci saranno mesi e mesi di trattative "nascoste" per abbassare le richieste o cercare di accomodarle....

E' libero Adam Loewen. Quarta scelta assoluta draft 2002.

Loewen fu scelto dopo Bullington, Upton e tale Chris Gruler, ma davanti a Greinke, Joe Saunders, Jeff Francis, Kazmir, Hamels, Jeremy Guthrie, Joe Blanton, Matt Cain, per parlare solo dei pitchers.

Peccato che non faccia più il pitcher, dopo l'ennesimo infortunio si è riciclato come OF....sarà il prossimo Ankiel? :gazza:

Conoscendo Manny e soprattutto Boras direi non molte.
Mi piacerebbe andasse ai Giants. Vedere dei figuranti in LF mi ha stufato :D

si parla di interessate, e si parla di rumors, quindi tutto e il contrario di tutto, chiacchiere offseason senza concretezza, il senso era "direi che tutte sono interessate a Manny", prendila come esile ed innocua battuta

Eh, ho capito, però ok chiaccherare in offseason (che non è ancora offseason, almeno a Tampa e a Phila la pensano così) ma non possiamo neanche dire cose a caso...per esempio non ce li vedo i Royals su Manny, o i Pirates...
Io dico che rimarrà a L.A. ma credo anche che una squadra arancioblù con un buco all'esterno sinistro un pensierino possa farcelo.

La mia sorpesa era doppia, uno. che tanti pitcher milgiori di lui fossero stati scelti dopo e due. che gli Orioles non lo tenessero per vedere come si sarebbe sviluppata la carriera di esterno...ma è vero quello che dici, non sarebbe il primo a cambiare ruolo e diventare un buon giocatore.

Manny, imho, riceverà 100-4 dagli Yankees.
