E' agosto ed è ora di aprire il topic ufficiale della squadra più amata da me stesso medesimo. Non avendo un cazzo da fare apro il topic anche se non ho nulla da dire. Gli upgrade arriveranno poi. Cosa ci aspettiamo nel 2006? Di rivincere la division, almeno, e se fosse possibile ottenere una vittoria ai playoff non ci lamenteremmo. Le carte in regola le abbiamo, vediamo come va. Intanto sopra potete leggere l'inno compost da tal Al Hoffman nel 1941... non ha avuto una gran fantasia ma che c'entra, anche il testo dell'Inno di Mameli fa schifo però tra giugno e luglio lo avete sempre cantato a squarciagola.

Ricordiamo la schedule 2006. Non è facile, ha qualche incognita e alcune partite davvero dure. Non sottovalutare la division comunque, i formaggini hanno il dente avvelenatissimo e i vichinghi non stanno navigando sulla bagnarola che molti potrebbero vedere in quella squadra. I teneri cuccioli della Motown per ora non consideriamoli (scusa assioma), avrebbero bisogno di ridisegnare i piani alti della dirigenza. Il vantaggio è quello di avere di tutti presenti al TC e di poter sfruttare un coaching staff che per il terzo anno lavorerà qui con quei geni difensivi di Smith e Rivera pronto a sfruttare di nuovo il muro di Urlacher e soci. Le altre tre squadre ripartono quasi da zero e tutte da nuovi allenatori, non è detto che riescano a decollare sin da settembre.

Davanti si correrà ancora tanto, ne abbiamo potenzialità e capacità, e soprattutto grande profondità nello spot di RB. Sarebbe bello vedere decollare il gioco aereo, gli auguri più grandi vanno fatti ovviamente a Grossman, sperando che finalmente possa giocarsi la sua chance. Ricordate: se vedrete Grossman in campo alla quarta partita dopo aver già disputato le prime tre, assisterete a un miracolo e ad un evento unico nella storia. Nel caso vada male di nuovo :strembald: avremo Griese al comando anche se la gente vogliono Kyle Orton! Tutto il mondo lo chiede a gran voce. persino all'ONU, recentemente, si è discusso prima di Orton inserito terzo QB della depth e poi della crisi in Libano. Saluti.

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - The Bears offense lost one of its key components Friday night when Cedric Benson was carted off the practice field after hurting his left shoulder.

The second-year pro sustained the injury while being hit in rapid succession by Brian Urlacher and Mike Brown after catching a short pass from Rex Grossman during 11-on-11 drills.

Benson dropped the ball, went down to one knee, removed his helmet and grabbed his shoulder in pain. Surrounded by concerned teammates, he was treated on the field for about seven minutes before being driven to the locker room with his shoulder wrapped.

"Cedric Benson injured his shoulder," coach Lovie Smith said after the practice at Olivet Nazarene's Ward Field. "We'll get X-rays on it. That's about all we know is that."

The hits Benson absorbed were consistent with most during a padded practice and weren't overly aggressive or vicious. The injury occurred on such a seemingly ordinary play that even the two defenders who were involved couldn't explain what transpired.

"I don't know what happened," Urlacher said. "I just turned around and he was on the ground. That's all I saw."

"I really don't know what happened," Brown said. "I think after we all see it on film we'll know exactly what happened. I wish I had more info, but I don't."

With a strained hamstring sidelining veteran running back Thomas Jones since the start of training camp, Benson was thriving while practicing with the No. 1 offense.

"I would say that he's having an excellent camp like he had an excellent offseason," Smith said. "Hopefully we'll get him back out here before long. He went down tonight, but we'll see exactly how bad the injury is. It was a freak accident. Hopefully it isn't too serious."

For the second straight day, Smith declined to confirm a newspaper report that Jones would be out for another 7-10 days. "He's getting treatment every day," Smith said. "I know he's trying to get back as soon as possible, and that's about all I know.

"We've said all along that you need two and possibly three good running backs to make it through an entire season. We're just using up our mulligans a little bit early as we see it."

Without Benson and Jones, third-stringer Adrian Peterson likely would assume the No. 1 job.

"I haven't heard anything," Peterson said. "I'll just continue to do what I do on special teams and if they call upon me to carry the ball a little bit more, then that's what I'm going to do."

When Jones and Benson were both injured last season, Peterson rushed for a career-high 120 yards and 1 touchdown on 24 carries in a 17-9 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

"We like Adrian Peterson," Smith said. "Every time we've had to play him he's played well. We feel comfortable with him."

In other news Friday, receiver Bernard Berrian exited practice with a hip flexor injury, defensive tackle Ian Scott remained sidelined with a sore knee and receiver Airese Currie and offensive lineman Terrence Metcalf both underwent arthroscopic knee surgery.

Impact: Benson will undergo X-rays Saturday morning to determine the extent of the injury. With Thomas Jones (hamstring) due back next week, even a mild injury could give Jones a chance to regain his stance with the first team. ProFootballTalk.com speculates that Bears defenders have been hitting Benson especially hard to show their support for Jones.

Difficle crederci, ma anche il Chicago Tribune avanza, con calma, un'ipotesi simile. Lovie Smith ovviamente getta acqua sul fuoco, Mike Brown nega categoricamente. Il buon Benson, comunque, pare abbia mostrato il solito carattere "eccessivo" nei primi giorni di camp e sembra abbia avuto qualche problemino con altri compagni. Forse questo colpo voleva essere una vendetta più che un aiuto a Jones, forse si vuol far rigare dritto un secondo anno troppo... estroverso? Chi ha visto alla tv il colpo assicura che non sembrava molto duro, ma sembra che il RB non abbia mosso il braccio per qualche minuto e per ora non ci sono news dalla società.

Certo che Urlacher e Brown sono degli ottimi compagni se te li fai amici :hehe:

Secondo altri organi d'informazione Benson è stato colpito volontariamente, per qualcuno sarebbe addirittura una vendetta dei compagni per le bizze dell'estate 2005, opionione che mi sento di contestare, certe cose si aggiustano anche prima in un modo o nell'altro. John Crist se al posto di Benson ci fosse stato Peterson nessuno lo avrebbe colpito, infatti pare che il drill puntasse più a forzare fumble che placcare l'avversario. Crist sostiene anche che, a suo modo di vedere, la spalla di Benson è messa male. Ovviamente ci tocchiamo le palle e chiediamo a Crist di andare a cagare.
