Jose Offerman received a lifetime ban from the Dominican winter league for throwing a punch at an umpire during a game Saturday. The onetime Red Sox second baseman was serving as manager of the Licey Tigers when he got physical with umpire Daniel Rayburn (video here). Offerman's team said it will appeal the ruling.

Preso o non preso non cambia nulla. A parte che per me l'ha preso di striscio, ma la gravità del gesto resta intatta. E il ban for life mi sembra più che giusto.
