Ieri sera su ESPN toccava a noi nel "Draft Preview" che Jaworski, Mortensen e Kiper stanno facendo pick per pick. Kiper è partito subito dicendo che se Albert sarà disponibile sarà un "lock pick" mentre Mortensen era orientato verso un WR (dando molto peso alle parole spese da Big Ben qualche settimana fa) progettando addirittura il pick di James Hardy, aggiungendo però che si tratterebe di un discreto "reach".

Albert sarebbe una manna dal cielo, da molti considerato un "franchise LT", dev'essere nostro. Come dice Kiper, qualche anno fa ci serviva un TE e siamo andati a bussare alla porta di Virginia per trovare Heath Miller, adesso ci serve un uomo di linea... La porta da bussare è sempre quella. 

Su ESPN dovrebbe anche esserci il video di una parte della conversazione.

Veteran DE visits Steelers

Anthony McFarland, a veteran defensive end with nine years in the NFL, is paying a visit to the Steelers today as a free agent.

McFarland, 30, was released by the Indianapolis Colts last month when he failed a physical. He spent last season on injured reserve with a knee injury. The Colts acquired McFarland in a trade with Tampa Bay in October 2006 for a second-round draft choice.

He was the Bucs' first-round draft choice in 1999 from LSU and played for Tampa Bay when Steelers coach Mike Tomlin was the secondary coach there.

Also, several college prospects were visiting the Steelers today: Arizona State running back Ryan Torain, Michigan outside linebacker Shawn Cable and linebacker Jerod Mayo of Tennessee.

Non ha passato i "physicals" con i Colts, non so come si potrebbe adattare a giocare in una 3-4, ha 30 anni, in poche parole: cosa ce ne facciamo? Ok, se viene via a poco non è sicuramente peggio dei vari Kirsche e compagnia che abbiamo a roster, però...

Visto un pò in giro....non ci sono ancora notizie del contratto.
L'hanno preso per fare il back-up di Hampton e mettergli un pò di pepe al culo?
Oppure stiamo realmente mutando in una 4-3 con McFarland e Hampton al centro della DL - almeno sui down di corsa.

In ogni caso spero abbiano valutato per bene le sue condizioni fisiche prima di prenderlo - è per quello che le checche l'aveva tagliato - oppure che si siano imbarcati in questa scommessa senza puntare troppi $$$.

Certo che se stanno bene e giocano come sanno Big Snack + Booger =

Per NFL Network's Adam Shefter, the Cardinals have agreed to terms with free agent OLB Clark Haggans on a one-year contract.
Haggans didn't draw much interest in free agency as a 3-4 system linebacker after leaving Pittsburgh, but the 31-year-old pass rusher will now be reunited with former Steelers assistants Ken Whisenhunt and Russ Grimm.

A Steelers spokesman said late Wednesday afternoon that no deal has been struck with McFarland.

Apparently, McFarland flunked his physical. A 10-year veteran with 85 career starts, McFarland missed last season with a knee injury. McFarland played for Tampa Bay and Indianapolis.

Dopo l'eiaculazione precoce di qualche giorno fa il Post-Gazette torna sui suoi passi e annuncia Nick Eason :gazza:

Nick Eason, who signed a one-year contract as an unrestricted free agent last year from the Cleveland Browns, signed up for two years this time. He became an unrestricted free agent Feb. 29 from the Steelers.

His signing means the club no longer has an active interest in acquiring veteran defensive lineman Anthony McFarland, who paid them a visit this week after he was released by the Indianapolis Colts. He left without signing a contract.
