Sempre e solo scuse. Lo UTD ne ha presi 6 in casa, ripero 6, dal City poi ha perso 8 punti di vantaggio partendo da un pareggio 4-4 con l'Everton in casa per poi perdere lo scontro diretto quando bastava un pareggio

Scuse? La Juve con 70 infortuni finiva settima in serie A, lo United ha perso il campionato per la differenza reti. E' semplicemente un dato di fatto. Il calcio non è il football americano, gli infortuni fanno parte del gioco anche qui ma averne 70 in un anno è semplicemente sfiga. Come averne solo 10 è culo.
Di quei 6 goal 3 sono arrivati tra l'89' e la fine della partita e si è giocato un tempo in inferiorità numerica. Batosta, caporetto, eccetera, ma non è il 6-0 preso dall'Inter.
In quello che è comunque un suicidio dello United(lo dico da sempre) dove stanno i meriti di Mancini che sul -8 dava il campionato per perso e invocava altri 2-3 acquisti(!!!) per vincere?

Non è un mistero che per i Blues questa sia una stagione da dimenticare, fallimentare se vogliamo dirla tutta. L'obbiettivo è concludere al terzo posto per andare in Champions League e poi fare una sessione di mercato estiva funzionale per il nuovo manager. Per fortuna ci sono elementi giovani di ottimo livello da cui ripartire, anche se son quasi tutti giocatori offensivi .

Di Canio resigns as Swindon manager after his position became 'untenable'

Paolo Di Canio has resigned as manager of Swindon Town, citing a series of 'broken promises' which made his place at the club 'untenable'.

In a statement he confirmed his decision to resign last Tuesday, and that it would come into effect after the weekend, so as not to jeopardise negotiations over the sale of the club.

Last season Di Canio led Swindon to the top of League Two and they were promoted with 93 points. They currently sit sixth in League One, just inside the play-offs, and are on an 11-match unbeaten streak.

The statement said: 'In my previous press statement on 1st February, I said that I was considering my future, as my position with the club had become untenable, after I found out that Matt Ritchie had been sold without my consent.

'As I had previously stated, there have been a number of broken promises made by the club over the time that I have been Manager of Swindon Town. Despite these problems, I have delivered everything and more that was asked of me, by achieving promotion last year as Champions and competing this season for promotion to the Championship and being just 3 points from top place a year earlier than expected.

'I did not resign immediately, nor publicise my resignation after I had formally confirmed it, as I did not want to jeopardise the negotiations for the sale of the club and I wanted to listen to what the proposed new owners plans were.'

Di Canio won 44 of the 75 league games he was in charge at Swindon, and his resignation will spark interest from bigger clubs who are looking for a new manager.

The statement also said: 'Following discussions, my representatives put forward a proposal that would secure my future at the club until at least the end of the season and quite possibly beyond as well. This proposal actually reduced the Clubs contractual liabilities to me in the interest of saving Swindon Town FC. At a meeting last Friday the proposed new owners accepted and said they were very happy with the new terms.

'I entered into a temporary arrangement with the proposed new owners to continue in my role as Manager but all this was agreed subject to Football League approval for the purchase of the Club being granted by 5:00pm on Monday 18th February.

'At the time of issuing this statement, I have had no further contact from the proposed new owners and I have been told that unfortunately Football League approval has not been granted yet and therefore my temporary arrangement has ended and my resignation stands.

'This is all I wish to say for the time being other than to thank my Technical Staff and the players for their fantastic professional behaviour and attitude in achieving what they have done up to today, also thanks to the Swindon Town supporters for the incredible support they have shown me and the team throughout my time as Manager.

'I wish the best of luck to the supporters, the players and my Technical Staff for the future.'
Undermined: Di Canio felt the sale of Matt Richie was the last straw

Di Canio had been furious after the administrator appointed by the club sanctioned the £500,000 sale of Ritchie without consulting him.

The former Sheffield Wednesday and West Ham striker wrote in a previous statement: 'I regard this as a clear breach of my contract with the Club and moreover, a clear attempt to undermine my position notwithstanding the success we have achieved in the last 18 months. Matt Ritchie was sold behind my back.'
