Com'è la situazione attuale con Glavine ed Hernandez?
Glavine aveva detto che la prossima stagione non avrebbe giocato con i Mets e questo per me sarebbe un grosso dispiacere.

Magari entrambi. Hanno due ruoli diversi. Ma i Mets avrebbero bisogno di qualcosa di più "garantito" rispetto ad uno sempre infortunato.

Hernandez non so. Glavine ha annunciato che giocherà, ma sonderà il mercato da free agent.

El Duque ha ancora un anno di contratto, ma non so se giocherà da partente visti i continui problemi fisici.
Glavine potrebbe anche smettere ...
Colon e Cordero li prenderei volentieri tutti e due... ma per Colon serve una trade ... i giocatori più richiesti per una trade sono Milledge, Gomez, F.Martinez, Heilman, Pelfrey e Humber ... di questi io sacrificherei solo Heilman.
A-Rod non mi piace e credo che sia un investimento assurdo per i Mets. (anche per altre squadre...)

Quindi per la prossima stagione dobbiamo cercare un partente solido che possa sostituire la partenza di Glavine, e sperare che Pedro ed Hernandez possano completare la rotazione composta, fino ad ora, da Maine e Perez.

Non dimenticare Pelfrey, è giovane e nell'ultimo mese ha fatto vedere ampi miglioramenti

Ovvio che se Pelfrey e Humber progrediscono e dimostrano di essere da MLB siamo a posto .... se tutte e due portano a casa 12/13 vittorie a testa si va ai playoff.
L'organizzazione sembra credere in loro ...

Aspettarsi 12/13 vittorie a testa da Pelfrey e Humber già dalla prossima stagione mi sembra una prospettiva un po' troppo ottimista, la passata stagione Pelfrey ha lanciato veramente male finendo con un record di 3-8, dopo aver cominciato con 7 sconfitte consecutive, dubito che nel 2008 riesca ad arrivare oltre le 10 vittorie, anche se ovviamente me lo auguro.

Io Pelfrey come quinto di rotazione lo riproverei quest'anno. Secondo me, come già detto qualche post più su, una rotazione basata su Pedro, Maine e Perez mi potrebbe anche stare bene sempre che riescano a prendere un vero ACE... Nutro alcuni dubbi su Colon anche se non mi è mai disipiaciuto.
Diciamo che visto che Santana ad oggi è un po' di tutte le squadre, un po' lo sento anche dei Mets...

With Tom Glavine seemingly weeks away from rejoining the Braves, the Mets gauged the starting pitching market and found that the limited free-agent pool has prompted teams to dangle young talents such as Tampa Bay's Scott Kazmir and Minnesota's Matt Garza to see what ransom they might command. (The cost is more than Victor Zambrano.) Omar Minaya said "potential" exists for a trade for a front-line starter, but the Mets may add a starting pitcher even if a trade for someone of Johan Santana's or Dontrelle Willis' ilk doesn't materialize.

Non sarebbe un po il caso, con tutti questi post in inglese, di iniziare ad inserire anche la fonte da cui sono stati presi ....... Un po per rispetto di chi li ha originati e anche cosi, magari ci si puo andare a leggere il resto...... O no?
