Pezzi come questo hanno fatto la storia del rock. L'attacco iniziale con l'organo Hammond è davvero eccezionale.
I Purple sono stati un gruppo fondamentale soprattutto per l'influenza che hanno avuto sulle generazioni successive, quelle che hanno dominato la scena negli anni '80. Il progressive rock è tuttora fonte di ispirazione, ma i risultati in generale sono più modesti, se si eccettuano alcuni casi che hanno come autori peraltro gruppi di una certa età.
