Sounding more like a free agent than a player under contract, Carlos Boozer repeated Monday that he and the Jazz have "mutually agreed" to a trade and proclaimed the Heat his top destination in comments to the Miami Herald .
Boozer also called the possibility of playing with Dwyane Wade "a beautiful thing" as he spoke to the Herald at a basketball camp he is holding in Miami.
"My wife [CeCe] and I first came here for tax reasons, and fell in love with it," Boozer said. "Love the palm trees, the laid-back attitude, the sun, quality of life. It's like paradise here, and I would love to be part of the Heat.
"They're a very good team, and I'm real close to some of the guys. Dwyane and I started to get close at the Athens Olympics in 2004, and I'd love to play on his team. Plus, I already live here. I'm just waiting to see what happens."
Boozer made similar comments about the prospect of playing with Chicago and Derrick Rose in a radio interview last week. The Bulls and Heat are considered front-runners for Boozer, along with possibly Detroit and Golden State.
Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor is believed to be considering several Boozer trade proposals that offer different degrees of players in return and/or luxury-tax relief.
Tyrus Thomas, Kirk Hinrich, Udonis Haslem, Dorell Wright, Tayshaun Prince, Richard Hamilton and Andris Biedrins all have been mentioned as possibilities.
