Brian Cashman:
"I don't think Alex is very good at communicating, to be quite honest," Cashman said. "I think anybody who covers him on a daily basis ... anybody who's been in that clubhouse and seen Alex trying to talk to his successes and failures in the baseball arena, he's not very good at it.
"I do think there's a degree of difficulty for him going into this circumstance. This is not something he's good at."
Personalmente, il suo definirsi "giovane e ingenuo" quando al tempo aveva 25 anni di cui 7 in MLB è piuttosto patetico. Di fatto, il giustificare tutto con il voler gestire la pressione di un contratto da 250+ milioni di dollari giocando da superstar e dimostrando a tutti di esserne meritevole, parla da solo.
Il passato sarà passato, ma le ombre restano e se proprio vogliamo concentrarci solo sul presente la pressione sul rendimento quest'anno sarà anche superiore a quella nel 2001, ed in una luce molto più negativa. E come dice Cashman il ragazzo non è un granché nel gestire situazioni difficili. Il clubhouse è unito nel fargli scudo intorno, ma è proprio lì che è nato il nomignolo "A-Fraud".
Io proporrei anche "A-Fraid".
Spero che il ragazzino sia finalmente diventato uomo e si concentri su questa stagione sopportando la pressione che l'aspetta.

finalmente, anche questa lunga (ma non troppo noiosa, nel bene e nel male
) off-season, sta per terminare!
meno di 48 ore e si parte!!!
non posso che fare gli auguri (con tutti gli scongiuri del caso) a questi Yankees
, che speriamo sappiano soddisfare le attese e ci facciano tornare sul tetto del mondo!!!!

CC puo' pesare anche 200 kg.,l'importante e'che lanci strike come se piovesse!
Comunque dalle prime foto in pinstripes sembrava fosse dimagrito.Evidentemente erano truccate.

clima controverso. tanti fischi ma anche qualche applauso per lui. in regular season sarà peggio.
buon lavoro del pitching oggi.

Vittoria 5-1 contro i Rays nella seconda gara di ST.Per quel che vale buona prova di Hughes ( 2 IP 2 K 1 BB),e soprattutto 2/2 di Jorge con 1 HR .Pare sia guarito.....

Derek Jeter went 2-for-4 with a two-run single and a walk to lead Team USA past the Yankees 6-5 on Tuesday.
So much for that True Yankee bull. Jeter did help out Phil Hughes by grounding into a double play immediately after Dustin Pedroia singled to lead off the first, but then he went about destroying the fragile 22-year-old's shaky confidence by delivering a two-run single that knocked him out of the game in the third inning. Traitor.
Certo che leggere le parole "Derek Jeter ... againts the Yankees" fa proprio strano!

Even when Alex Rodriguez tries to be positive, things seem to turn out wrong.
A-Rod paid Mets shortstop Jose Reyes a high compliment yesterday after the Dominican Republic's first exhibition game before the World Baseball Classic, but it unintentionally came off as a slight of at least one Yankees teammate and possibly even Derek Jeter, Rodriguez's old friend/nemesis.
"I wish he was leading off on our team, playing on our team," Rodriguez said of Reyes, who hustled to take an extra base in the fifth inning, then stole third and scored in the Dominican team's 10-1 win over the Marlins.
"That's fun to watch. Anytime you have that type of speed ... I mean, we have a guy in Gardner that'll be fun. That's probably the most you can have, watching those guys run."
Rodriguez might have forgotten who plays shortstop for the Yankees, but he quickly remembered once his brief news conference was over. A Dominican team spokesman said the compliment of Reyes was not intended as a shot at Jeter, who has remained somewhat distant since A-Rod's steroid admission.
Ovviamente la stampa monterà un altro caso. Ma io credo che sia meglio stare zitti e sembrare scemi, che aprire la bocca e dimostrarlo, perchè al di là delle intenzioni, questo è un assist al bacio per i mediots. Poi loro ci sguazzano. Ma evitare alla base?

Cano, Cervelli, Jeter, Liu, Marte, Edwar Ramirez, A-Rod, Jorge Vazquez, Jose Veras e Zhang.
Solo un paio di rilievi, nessuno della rotazione, ma 3/4 degli interni. Alla fine sono pochi numericamente.
Qui c'è la lista divisa per franchigia.

Intanto è notizia delle ultime ore che gli Yankees potrebbero chiedere ad A-Rod di rinunciare al WBC... Rodriguez soffre da qualche giorno di un infortunio alla spalla e la franchigia vuole cautelarsi in modo da averlo al 100% per la prima della regular season...

Veras ha declinato e Ramirez da quanto ne so è fuori per un leggero infortunio

Iniziamo bene, A-Rod si deve far operare per il problema all'anca.
Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez will have surgery on the cyst on his right hip on Monday and could be out of action until May, Rodriguez's brother Joe Dunand told Las Mayores.com.
The operation will be performed by Dr. Marc Phillipon in Vail, Colo., where Rodriguez traveled on Wednesday to be examined.
It is estimated Rodriguez will spend two weeks in the hospital recovering before he can return to the field.
He will not play in the World Baseball Classic for the Dominican Republic.
