Anche perchè, per assurdo, Silva guadagna più di Bradley....

Riepilongando: Hendry strapaga Bradley, giocatore che ha avuto problemi di qualsiasi tipo e che è sostanzialmente un DH. Il rapporto si rompe dopo un anno, Hendry lo cede a Seattle per uno dei pitcher più scarsi dell'MLB, con un rapporto qualità/stipendio da brividi.
E c'è ancora qualcuno che difende Hendry, la cosa mi lascia senza parole.

Beh, se hai Minaya o Wade come GM, Hendry diventa difendibilissimo. Certo che questo trade...

It’s official: Yanks sign Nick Johnson

ESPN just reported that the Yanks have officially signed Nick Johnson to a one year contract. Buster Olney says Johnson will make $5.5M in 2010 with a mutual option for 2011 worth another $5.5M.

Bella anche la firma di Grabow...c'è da dire che ha pochi soldi da spendere, ma quelli che aveva li ha spesi spesso male.

io ho letto 9M (risparmio per i Cubs di 6M per differenza contratti 24-21)

I Giants firmano il 3B dominicano Duanel Jones per 1.3 milioni di bonus.
I Mets hanno firmato Clint Everts con un contratto MLB.

Before they signed John Lackey, the Red Sox offered Matt Holliday a five-year deal worth $82.5MM, according to Peter Gammons (via Twitter). ESPN.com's Buster Olney heard the same thing and adds, not surprisingly, that the Red Sox are no longer suitors for Holliday. That's comparable to the amount of money the Cardinals are willing to guarantee the left fielder, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Secondo Crasnick, anche i Tigers volevano Juan Pierre perchè non si fidano di Austin Jackson (che comunque è passabile... da fenomeno mo' diventa pippa! Invece sarà un discreto giocatore a costo minimo).

Io non riesco ancora a credere che i Mariners in cambio di un giocatore per loro assolutamente inutile abbiano preso Milton Bradley per 6/2. Boh, mi auguro per i Cubs che Silva in NL faccia qualcosa, sennò...

Kansas City Royals - Acquired C
Jake Mauer from the Minnesota Twins for SS Yuniesky Betancourt, 1B Eric Hosmer, and P Mike Montgomery.
The Royals got to negotiate with Mauer in a 48-hour-window and signed him to a 4-year, $60 million contract extension, with a $21 million club option for 2015.
Word is that Dayton Moore requested a trade for "J Mauer" and the Twins were only too happy to oblige. While Jake Mauer hadn't played professionally since 2005, the Twins still reserved his rights as he was on the disqualified list.
The plan right now is to have the former Moore-thinks-he-was-the-MVP play DH while the team figures out how to move the contract of either Jason Kendall (2/6, signed in December) or Bengie Molina (3/21, signed in January).
Until someone decides to double-check Mauer's first name, Mauer is expected to hit 5th in the Royal lineup in 2010, behind RF Jeff Francoeur, acquired in the Billy Butler trade, and new Royal 1B Hank Blalock.
Given that fooling Dayton Moore is baseball's new market inefficiency, the Twins have signed 43-year-old actuary Bill Morneau to a two-year contract for league mininum and the Cardinals have reportedly agreed to a minor league contract with 74-year-old retired machinist and Korean War veteran Dick Pujols.
