Anch'io odio parlare in estate, ma fase calante in base a cosa? alla stagione passata? la squadra è quella dell'anno scorso con l'aggiunta di un TE tra i top della lega (McMichael), un OLB che costituisce un upgrade (Draft), un run stuffer degno di questo nome (Carriker). Per il ruolo di 3° WR è stato sostituito Curtis con Bennett e si spera che quest'anno la OL sia sana (e ad occhio dovrebbe essere la migliore dai tempi del Greatest Show on Turf).

Io credo che Seattle debba ancora essere considerata favorita per la vittoria nella NFC West anche se probabilmente è in fase calante e dipende molto dalla salute di Alexander; penso sia in fase calante anche St. Louis che però se l'attacco gira può battere chiunque mentre Arizona è un'incognita, ha un grande talento ma non riesce ad esprimerlo in pieno vedremo come andrà col nuovo allenatore. Noi siamo una squadra giovane ed in crescita, veniamo da una stagione discreta (in relazione al talento che avevamo), credo che abbiamo fatto le mosse giuste in off season (FA + draft) e quindi possiamo sicuramente lottare per un posto ai play offs.
quoto. Seattle imho è ancora la favorita ma dipende dalla salute di Alexander che rumors in questa offseason dicevano avesse ancora problemi con la frattura al piede dell'anno scorso. Delle altre Arizona mi convince poco: teoricamente un attacco esplosivo ma coaching staff nuovo e nuovo sistema difensivo e sappiamo bene noi niner quanto sia complicato passare ad una 3-4, in definitiva la vedo la più debole delle 4. I Rams invece li vedo molto bene. Sta di fatto che imho sarà una division molto equilibrata.

Adam Caplan, reporting for Scout.com, reports the San Francisco 49ers have agreed to terms with sixth-round draft pick RB Thomas Clayton on a four-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Mentre diventano ufficiali i termini del contratto di Staley:
The 49ers have officially signed rookie tackle Joe Staley to a five-year, $8 million contract with $5.6 million in guaranteed money. If Staley reaches all of his incentives, the deal would max out at $10.9 million.
"It was extremely important to get this done," said Rick Smith, Staley's agent. "Joe has a chance to make a significant contribution right away. He definitely will be given a chance to compete."

In fase calante rispetto a due-tre anni fa quando era considerata una delle maggiori pretendenti al Super Bowl per la NFC.

Firmato Darnell Bing, S-LB tagliato dai Raiders dopo un anno passato in IR; al draft dell'anno scorso era considerato un possibile obiettivo dei niners, se non ricordo male venne anche in visita a Santa Clara pochi giorni prima del draft.

The San Francisco 49ers announced Thursday that they have signed third-round draft pick WR Jason Hill (Washington State). Terms of the contract were not announced by the team.
Hill (6-1, 204) played in 43 games with 31 starts during his four-year career at Washington State. He accounted for 32 of the team’s 68 touchdown receptions over his final three seasons for the Cougars. Hill’s 32 career touchdowns and 2,704 career receiving yards rank first in school history. As a senior, he tallied 41 catches for 600 yards and seven touchdowns in 10 starts. Hill recorded a career-high 1,097 receiving yards on 62 receptions as junior after tallying 45 catches for 1,007 yards as a sophomore.
With the signing of Hill, the 49ers now have seven of their nine draft picks signed after inking T Joe Staley (1st round), LB Jay Moore (4th round), S Dashon Goldson (4th round), DT Joe Cohen (4th round) and CB Tarell Brown (5th round) and RB Thomas Clayton (6th round).
