Si fa un gran parlare del prossimo Head Coach e del fatto che Lebron ne possa essere influenzato (viceversa) o meno. Certo che se Lebron avesse qualcuno disposto a fargli fare ciò che vuole, o magari una personalità vincente, le chance che possa rimanere si alzano, ma in fin dei conti non credo che le possibilità che rimanga sia in gran parte determinate dalla scelta dell'allenatore, bensì dalla voglia di cambiare aria e diventare un'icona spaziale tipo a NYC o ridefinire la sua immagine con quella di Jordan a Chicago. Vogliamo poi parlare di soldi? :)

Bè però secondo me a James interessa per prima cosa vincere e se gli metti un allenatore come Scott non è che sia proprio una garanzia,il problema è che non ci sono tanti allenatori vincenti in giro,però Scott mi sembra proprio una scelta sbagliata come principio...

Ne prenderebbe di più a Cleveland che da qualsiasi altra parte.

LBJ non ha bisogno di ridefinire la sua immagine, non ha bisogno di andare in un grande mercato perchè è lui il mercato.
Arrivato a questo punto della carriera Lebron ha/deve avere in testa una sola cosa vincere e vincere il più possibile*. Prenderà la sua scelta principalmente in base a chi a suo avviso gli offrirà maggiori garanzie in tal senso.

Poi se facesse questa scelta utilizzando anche un pò di cuore...

* per far questo però deve prima di tutto maturare lui stesso, perchè se stecca in modo totale una serie dal punto di vista mentale come ha fatto quest' anno non vincerà mai niente anche avesse al suo fianco Pippen e Nash e fosse allenato da mister 10 titoli.

Condivido il fatto che la maturazione è un processo al quale Lebron deve passare per poter vincere. Ovvio che un Pippen o un Nash possono aiutare e di molto...
Analizzando gli ultimi due anni le prestazioni di James ai playoffs si determina un cambiamento totale di mentalità/gioco nei momenti cruciali e questo non credo sia dovuto solo alla maturità. Credete che James nei momenti difficili provi paura a spingere e tirare per portare a casa a vittoria? Boh, mi sembra strano da uno come lui.
Sta di fatto che adesso i Cavs devono fare in modo da ripartire da lui se vogliono vincere, altrimenti si prospetta un anno molto, ma molto buio...

tutti i miei amici,tifosi dei cavs, mi hanno detto(ma non ci credo tanto)che loro continueranno a tifare Cleveland con o senza james.

Senza ombra di dubbio non nascondo che segue James, così come seguo tanti altri. Ovvio che senza di lui i Cavs perdono di spessore (parlo per me ragazzi). Se James rimane sono felice perché dopo diversi anni mi sono affezionato alla squadra...

In caso di partenza di James, i Cavs devono solo aspettare e sperare di draftare, in un futuro lontano, un fenomeno di livello pari o superiore a LBJ(e non sono un suo ammiratore) .... si prospettano anni bui per i Cavs....
Cmq sono convinto che ci sia qualche possibilità che il 23 resti nella sua regione natale, non per motivi affettivi, perchè penso che la squadra sia competitiva, anche se l' anno prossimo tutti i giocatori avranno un anno in più e questo fattore incide negativamente sull' effettivo valore della squadra............ aspetto con grande curiosità la fine del mercato per avere risposte ai miei dubbi.. :gazza: :gazza: :gazza:

According to a source, LeBron James is in discussions with Nike to create a new shoe for every city visited along a free-agent tour that will take him to New York, then Chicago, and possibly on to Miami and Los Angeles depending on his interest.

The source's opinion is that James will remain a Cav in the end.

Danny Ferry will step down as general manager of the Cavs.

Assistant GM Chris Grant is expected to take over.

Ferry reportedly was unhappy about having to fire head coach Mike Brown.

Ferry's contract ends this summer.

A source said that an official announcement could be made on Friday.

Cleveland Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert and General Manager Danny Ferry have mutually agreed they will not enter into a new contract. The announcement was made jointly today by Gilbert and Ferry.

Ferry was named the eighth general manager in Cleveland Cavaliers history on June 27, 2005. He led the team through the most successful period in franchise history, including a NBA-high 127 regular season wins over the last two seasons, as well as being the only team in the NBA to advance past the first round of the playoffs in each of the past five seasons. The Cavaliers won their first-ever Eastern Conference Championship and made their only trip to the NBA Finals in 2007. The Cavaliers record during Ferry’s five-season tenure was 272-138 (.663). The team’s playoff record was 42-29 (.592). “For five years, Danny Ferry was instrumental in leading the establishment of a culture, process and professionalism that has become part of the fabric of the definition of 'who' are the Cleveland Cavaliers. Danny worked extremely hard to create this strong foundation that we will continue to build upon going forward with much gratitude and appreciation,” said Gilbert. “This solid foundation is evident by the natural and clear choice to choose his close associate, Chris Grant, whom Danny worked in partnership with for his entire five years leading the Cavaliers front office, to succeed Danny as the Cleveland Cavaliers new general manager.”

“On behalf of the entire Cleveland Cavaliers organization, I would like to thank Danny and hope that he and his family experience nothing but continued health and success in the years ahead,” added Gilbert.

Ferry also spent 10 seasons (1990-2000) playing in Cleveland as a member of the Cavaliers. He played in 723 regular season games which is second most in franchise history (Ilgauskas).

“It is difficult to articulate what the last five years has meant to me, both professionally and personally. I have had a tremendous experience as the General Manager of the Cleveland Cavaliers and have great respect for the people within the organization that I have worked with. Our ultimate goal was to win a championship but it was also critically important to establish a foundation to achieve sustained success and have the ability to contend year in and year out. That helped us achieve our first trip to the NBA Finals, qualifying for the playoffs each of the last five years and back to back 60 win seasons,” said Ferry.

“At the same time, we wanted to establish a championship-caliber culture that provided a consistency of purpose and a compass for operating on and off the court. I truly appreciate Dan Gilbert' s dedication and commitment in helping us achieve many of our goals. Replacing Ferry as general manager is Chris Grant, formerly the Cavaliers assistant general manager/vice president of basketball operations. Grant joined the Cavaliers as assistant general manager on July 9th, 2005. As assistant general manager/vice president of basketball operations, Grant worked closely with Ferry on all basketball operations and front office elements, including the draft, trades, free agency and player contracts, as well as overseeing the domestic and international scouting programs. Grant also spearheaded the design and construction of the Cavaliers’ state-of-the-art player development center, Cleveland Clinic Courts, which opened at the start of the 2007 season.

Articolo interessante del solito Windhorst.

punti fondamentali:

- cerca di rassicuraci un pò sulle capacità di Grant;
- non è ancora chiaro se si aspetterà Lebron per la decisione sul nuovo allenatore, ma Gilbert sembra comunque deciso a puntare su qualcuno "focus on defense";
- nonostante i cambiamenti il front office sembra molto attivo, si sta discutendo di varie possibilità di trade per acquisire scelte al draft ma anche di probabili grossi scambi con al centro anche uomini cardine della scorsa stagione;

Vengono in parte confermati alcuni miei pensieri che avevo esposto nel topic dei rumors.
