NFL position: QB
Height: 6-2 1/8
Weight: 227
40 time: 4.70
Current projection:First-round pick
NFL comparison:Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers
SCHEDA
Arm strength: Has a big-time arm. Can make every NFL throw with zip and accuracy. Is able to throw across his body with accuracy
when flushed out of the pocket. Grade: 8.5
Accuracy/delivery: Is consistently able to put the ball right on target. Has a quick and compact delivery. Shows one of the best over-thetop releases of any quarterback our scouts have seen. Puts the ball where only his receiver can play the ball. Grade: 9.0
Field vision: Sees the entire defense well, goes through progressions and consistently finds the open receiver. Does not force passes into
bad spots or get fooled by coverage. Looks off the safety nicely to keep him away from the receiver. Identifies the defense at the snap
well. Grade: 8.5
Running ability: Makes plays with his feet. Can pull free from a potential sack, reset his feet and make the throw. Can pull the ball down and scramble for a first down. Grade:7.0
Intangibles: Only was a full-time starter for one season in college, raising questions about whether he’s ready to handle the NFL. Is regarded as an excellent leader who takes command of the team and leaves no doubt who is in charge. Is mature, confident and
intelligent. Grade: 8.0
Bottom line: Despite his lack of starting experience, it’s hard not to like Sanchez from what he has shown on film. He avoids wouldbe
sacks with impressive footwork, and he can make strong and accurate throws from anywhere on the field. For a first-year starter,
Sanchez was impressive in that he almost never forced passes or made risky throws. Sanchez is only going to get better and looks
to eventually become a top-line NFL quarterback who should surpass the achievements of his two predecessors at USC, Matt
Leinart and John David Booty.
