Steelers GM Kevin Colbert confirmed Monday that free agent ILB James Farrior won't be resigning with Pittsburgh.
Farrior was cut in large part due to a $2.825 million salary, but also because his performance has fallen off. "When we terminated those players we felt that their time as a Steeler was over and it was time for everybody to move forward," said Colbert. "I think when they all left they know that you can never say never. But they also know that was their last time as a Steeler."

- Tomlin said Art Rooney did not order him to fire Bruce Arians and said he and no one else hired Todd Haley. Art Rooney owns the football team. he can do what he wants to do, but those directives did not happen. Tomlin on why Arians was let go by #Steelers: "I thought that it was time for change."
- Tomlin said he likes what he has at RB behind the injured Mendenhall but "I'm sure we're going to get a running back in some form or fashion. Tomlin said that RB will come in free agency or the draft.
- Tomlin said Haley's new offensive playbook will include new nomenclature, maybe a fullback but no overhaul in the blocking schemes.
- Tomlin said the Steelers want to acquire a "young quarterback in some form of fashion" but they are not looking long-term to groom starter. (COUSINS!
ndr )
- Tomlin said Ohio State OT Mike Adams among those prospects who already have visited Steelers. 2 other prospects besides Adams who visited #Steelers so far: WR Ty Hilton of Fla. Intl and DL Derek Wolfe of Cincinnati. Plus Pitt kids.
- Tomlin said OTA practices, down from 14 to 10 by new CBA, will not start until May 22 and go through June 14, then break until camp.
- Tomlin said he hasn't though about a team signing RFA Mike Wallace: "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it -- IF we come to it.'' Tomlin says he doesn't expect contrast situation to affect Wallace, assuming he returns to the Steelers.
- Tomlin said Casey Hampton could open season on PUP. Said Scott McLendon starter capable and Ziggy Hood another possibility at NT.
- Tomlin says he expects Larry Foote to replace Farrior and to play well.
- Tomlin says he is worried about Emmanuel Sanders' ability to stay healthy and on the field.
- Tomlin says Steelers need to address ILB, RB, NT/DT via free agency or the draft.
- Tomlin says Lewis, Allen and C. Brown will battle for starting CB position opposite Ike Taylor. Tomlin says Lewis will go into offseason practices with slight edge because he has been in Steelers' system longer.
- Tomlin expects Mendenhall to play at some point in 2012 but acknowledged his likely opens on PUP list.

Ecco, serve a evitare complicazioni
