3 a 2 per i Mets, sale K-rod per la chiusura, Phillies incollato al pc a gufare e, come me, a Philly tutti gl altri tifosi:K-rod fa un inning da paura!!!!

Interessante preview dell'imminente serie contro i Pirates al PNC Park.

Questa notte Hernandez (4-1, 4.28 - 4-4, 5.14 vs Pirates) vs Snell (1-6, 5.43 - 0-2, 6.11 vs Mets).

Peccato per l'infortunio di Maine (che si aggiunge ad una lunghissima lista), anche se non ho ancora trovato notizie dettagliate sulle sue situazioni, probabilmente se ne avranno in giornata.

A quanto pare c'è un'epidemia di gastroenterite. Beltràn l'ha avuta l'altro ieri e ieri Maine.
Speriamo non si diffonda ulteriormente.

Grazie ad entrambi per le informazioni su Maine, ho cercato velocemente nei soliti 2/3 siti che consulto e non avevo trovato niente.

Intanto si parla di una possibile modifica nel bullpen, sembra che Parnell prenda il posto di Putz come setup man per K-Rod:

When the Mets overhauled their bullpen over the winter, J.J. Putz was installed as the eighth-inning guy. Newsday, however, said there is a chance the job could soon belong to Bobby Parnell.

Putz couldn't get out of the jam he created in the eighth Sunday against the Marlins, and Parnell was the replacement.

Manager Jerry Manuel saw enough after Putz walked pinch hitter Ross Gload with one out and allowed a pair of singles to bring in the Marlins' first run. That brought up the dangerous Hanley Ramirez, representing the potential tying run.

Parnell didn't start well, allowing a bloop single to right by Ramirez that made it 3-2. But the hard-throwing rookie struck out Jorge Cantu and got Jeremy Hermida on a fly to left to keep the Mets in front and get the game to Francisco Rodriguez.

"We continue to try and do what we feel is best to win games," Manuel said. "Sometimes those are tough decisions. But if we feel at that time that's the best chance to win, that's what we'll do."

In other Mets news, shortstop Jose Reyes is on pace to return from the disabled list on Friday.

Reyes left for Port St. Lucie Sunday for treatment on his right calf, the New York Post reported.

Parnell sta dimostrando di essere in ottima forma ed un ottimo pitcher. Per ora, a memoria, ricordo solo una sua entrata poco felice con 3-4 BB e poco controllo. Per il resto ha sempre fatto benissimo, ed anche quando ha lanciato l'ottavo non ha mai deluso. §Sembra anche che stia studiando da partente...

Niente, Beltran fuori anche stasera.... situazione difficile... 

Ultimamente Putz non sta lanciando un gran chè, domenica ha concesso 2 punti in un terzo di inning e ieri ci è costato la partita contro i Pirates (0.0 IP, 3ER) e quarta sconfitta stagionale.

Sembrava di vedere i Mets di inizio stagione, cinque punti segnati nei primi tre innings con sei valide (sette in totale nella partita) e poi niente di niente per il resto della partita.
E d'altra parte sembrava di vedere il bullpen della scorsa stagione, Putz mi è sembrato l'incrocio di Heilamn e Schoeneweis dei bei tempi. Certo che da lui ci si aspettava un po di più che un 1-4 con una ERA superiore ai 5.

Questa è la seconda volta in carriera su 336 apparizioni che JJ sale sul monte affrontando almeno 3 battitori senza eliminarne nemmeno uno.

Per la prima volta in stagione invece i Pirates riescono a vincere dopo essere stati sotto di cinque punti.


Questa sera Santana (7-2, 1.77 - 2.0, 1.19 vs Pirates) vs Duke (5-4, 2.75 - 2-1, 3.62 vs Mets).
