The New York Post is reporting from the general managers meetings that the Yankees are talking with the Brewers about the possibility of acquiring Cameron in a package that might include centerfielder Melky Cabrera, possibly infielder Wilson Betemit and a pitcher.

Cabrera didn't have a very good year last year and the Yankees eventually stopped playing him in the second half and even sent him to Triple-A for a period of time. But he is a switch-hitter who batted better from the left side, which is a need for the Brewers.

Certo Cameron avrà 36 anni in gennaio.
The rare occurence of the expected.

Seh, bum!

According to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Brewers reliever Salomon Torres has decided to retire to spend more time with his family.  He leaves a probable $3.75MM salary on the table.

Torres may not have been the Brewers' choice for next year's closer, but it's still a big loss.  Eric Gagne, Guillermo Mota, and Brian Shouse are also free agents, so Doug Melvin has his work cut out for him.  Fortunately, the closer market is looking deep right now.

dentro valentine come bench coach.

Nov. 14, 2008 |
The Brewers filled the final spot on new manager Ken Macha's staff today when they named Stan Kyles as the bullpen coach.

Kyles has been a coach in the Brewers' system for eight years, including the last four as the pitching coach at Class AAA Nashville.

This will by Kyles' first big league assignment, as a coach and pitcher.  A fourth-round draft pick of the Cubs in 1979, Kyles pitched for 11 seasons in the minors before retiring.

Kyles coached in the farm systems of the Cubs and Rockies before joining the Brewers in 2001.

So, to review the coaching staff, here are the assignments:

Bench coach: Willie Randolph
Hitting coach: Dale Sveum
Pitching coach: Bill Castro
Third base coach: Brad Fischer
First base coach: Ed Sedar
Bullpen coach: Stan Kyles

a livello manageriale siamo a posto, adesso mancano "solo" i giocatori...
