Here are five reasons the Niners have a good chance to beat the Saints on Saturday.

1. The Niners can get pressure on Drew Brees with their front by attacking the weak link on the Saints line – center Brian De La Puente – with Aldon Smith on stunts. Justin Smith can occupy Pro Bowl left tackle Jermon Bushrod and Pro Bowl left guard Carl Nicks and free up Aldon Smith to swing around, beat De La Puente and crash the pocket where Brees likes to step up.

2. The Niners have a good chance to neutralize the Saints x-factors on offense – Darren Sproles and Jimmy Graham – with NaVorro Bowman and Patrick Willis, respectively. Yes, Jimmy Graham is six inches taller than Willis, but Willis has covered taller tight ends well all season long. And if Bowman could keep Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy in front of him in Philadelphia, he can contain Darren Sproles on Candlestick’s grass.

3. A big part of the Saints’ improvement on offense comes from their ability to run the ball this year. They will not be able to do this against the Niners. They will be a one-dimensional passing team like they were last year against Seattle in the playoffs.

4. The Niners have a top-notch home red-zone defense (allowing TDs just 25 percent of the time), while the Saints scored touchdowns only seven times out of 22 chances on grass this season in the red zone. The Saints will move the ball, but the Niners defense should be able to hold them to field goals.

5. The Niners will be able to run on the Saints defense. Frank Gore is rested and presumably healthy enough. He should get 20 carries and average near five yards a pop. The Niners will control the time of possession and, most importantly, keep the snap count low for Drew Brees and the Saints high-powered offense.

Però Aldone non gioca tutti gli snap e New Orleans ha giocato drive sui quattro down contro Detroit. De La Puente non lo riterrei proprio un broccaccio: guardatevi il suo blocco su uno dei td di Sproles. Giustino è un iradiddio ma pensare che possa occupare due uomini di linea per tutta la partita implica considerarlo piuttosto ... Tebow

Su PWillie e Bow non c'è bisogno di spendere parole, però su Sproles e Graham sì. Sproles non è solo come un McCoy, è uno di tre o quattro con Ingram, Ivory, Thomas: Bow contro tutti per tutta la partita? Bowmann, non Bud Spencer. Graham è un incrocio tra Gates e Gronkoski, non è né l'uno, né l'altro, ma non credo che PWillie che non ha esattamente solo quel compito potrà tenerlo sotto le 5 ricezioni

ommioddio: questo si chiama chiamarsela, questo articolo l'ha scritto un tifoso dei Saints. Questi Saints non sono quelli dell'anno scorso. altrimenti avrebbero fatto la figura dell'anno scorso. E cmq il loro attacco anche monodimensionale non è proprio così scarso

Indubbiamente sulla carta è uno dei quarti più affascinanti. Avete le carte per metterli in difficoltà, anche se per come stanno giocando ora i Saints sembra impossibile.

La vittoria verrà decisa dalle linee, in questo caso più che mai. NO per perdere deve commettere TO e per commeterli dovete annullare il gioco di corsa e mettere pressione di Brees.
Facile a dirsi, meno a farsi visto che raramente i blitz portano a qualcosa contro questo attacco e visto quanti secondi ha Brees per lanciare. Contro Detroit la grossa differenza è stata quella, Stafford aveva un tempo di rilascio di 1,5-2 secondi, aveva fretta insomma, Brees se ne prendeva comodamente 4-5 riuscendo cosi a studiare cosa la difesa gli concedesse di volta in volta.

Dai 2 TO provocati da Detroi sono arrivati 0 punti, e il DB dei Lions nel 4°-4° si è magiato un INT clamoroso, qui è stata la chiave, non hanno capitalizzato i Turn over.
Siete molto molto forti in difesa, e senza una straordinaria prestazione di quella non avete chances, ma ammettendo che questo si verificherà dovete sperare che l'attacco segni e parecchio, altrimenti con il passare dei minuti NO verrà fuori (Come contro Detroi..).

i saints sono impressionanti ed hanno uno in regia che non sbaglia nulla....

bisogna tenerlo seduto il più possibile sperando che il nostro gioco di corse funzioni a meraviglia...

Secondo me la vinciamo non segnando tanto, perche' non sappiamo farlo, ma fermando la macchina da punti dei Saints: bisogna mettere la difesa in modalita' Baltimora2000!!!

Dovrebbe essere una specie di: "Non chiediamo scappatoie (o aiuto), non ne diamo". A cosa si riferisce? Chi segue i vari giornalisti dei niners lo sa già, chi non li segue....lo scoprirà presto.

Il fatto è che spesso i Saints non hanno nemmeno bisogno di arrivarci in red zone

Infatti il tempo di possesso è sempre la questione prinipale per i Saints che segnano nel tempo che vogliono ...
