I Saints con Vilma fanno un salto di qualità mica da ridere, lui in una 4-3 è devastante. Se arriva Shockey, poi, sono cavoli amari per tutti....

ok, i Saints se comprano mezza NFL...
certo che se dai Shockey a Brees rischi di mettere nelle mani dell'attacco di NO un'Arma altamente letale....

SAINTS SNAG VILMA

Tom Rock of Newsday reports that the Jets have struck a deal with the Saints for linebacker Jonathan Vilma.

Vilma will go to New Orleans, apparently for a conditional pick in the 2009 draft.

The conditional nature of the selection suggests that there are lingering concerns about Vilma's knee.

SAINTS WANT SHOCKEY

With tight end Jeremy Shockey possibly on the outs in New York, there already are teams interested in his services.

According to John Clayton of ESPN.com, via our friends at Rotoworld.com, the Saints have contacted the Giants regarding the availability of Shockey.  Giants G.M. Jerry Reese previously has suggested that Shockey won't be traded.

Shockey suffered a broken leg in December, and rookie Kevin Boss played well in his place.  Also, some think that the stunning development of quarterback Eli Manning had a lot to do with the absence of Shockey.

Saints coach Sean Payton was the offensive coordinator in New York during Shockey's rookie season of 2002.

Absolutely, se i Saints danno qualche giro di vite alla difesa diventano pericolosissimi. Vilma è un gran bel punto di partenza, se arriva anche Samuel...
L'attacco è già forte così, se ci aggiungono pure Shockey diventa letale....
Hanno anche il pick n° 10 e c'è il rischio che prendano pure Ellis...

Comunque ciò che si nota, è che davvero c'è il rischio di un generale indebolimento del livello della AFC, e un innalzamento SPAVENTOSO del livello nella NFC.
Molti campioni che vengono dalla AFC, probabilmente si accaseranno in squadra della NFC.
Già Vilma ha fatto il passaggio, poi ci sono i vari Asante Samuel, Justin Smith, Alan Faneca, Randy Moss (???), possibili trade riguardante Chad Johnson e Jason Taylor.
Insomma, se le voci di questi giorni, diventano realtà, occhio che in NFC sarà un macello, con addirittura la NFC East che potrebbe essere una guerra totale, che potrebbe portare anche tutte le sue franchige ai PO (lo scorso anno riuscì il 3 su 4, e per lo scontro diretto non arrivarono anche gli Eagles).

Sicuro...(credo  ).
I siti ufficiali di NFL e Saints non dicono nulla, però gli organi ufficiali le mettono sempre dopo le notizie.
Da ciò che leggo sembra sicuro.

Tutto come previsto, Savage ha offerto un triennale apposta per far saltare l'accordo, consapevole che la volontà di Anderson sarebbe stato un contratto di 5 anni.

Intanto il primo colpo della Free Agency è targato Cleveland Browns, ovviamente. Corey Williams, DT dei Packers appena taggato da Green Bay, arriva a Cleveland in cambio della nostra seconda scelta. Acquisto già annunciato da tempo da un insider dei Browns che aveva fatto sapere che Corey Williams sarebbe stato il primo free-agent su cui i Browns avrebbero investito. Ai Packers giocava interno, nella nostra 3-4 occuperà lo slot di LE al posto di Roye. E' un pass-rusher naturale, non un granchè contro le corse. Probabile un contratto di 6 anni a $38 M.

per TAP...non potranno mai andare tutte le squadre di division altrimenti le wild card dovrebber oessere almeno  3.

Stroud dovrebbe essere oggi a Buffalo. Si parla di una possibile trade con JAX in cambio di pick al draft 2008 (immagino non oltre un 3o giro, vista la trade di Jenkins).
