Sì, infatti non credo nemmeno abbiano colto lo spirito dell'iniziativa.
Potrei essermi spiegato male in Inglese, pertanto vi riporto di seguito la mia originale.
Good morning,
I write on the behalf of a group of Italian Moneyball readers.
I don't know how many copies of Lewis' book sold in our country, but I know that - for some reason - there is a renewed interest in the book right now.
Anyhow, baseball is not popular in our country, let alone statistical analysis of the game, so when I speak of interest, I might be talking of tens of people.
A few other contrymates that would like to read the book, can't do it because they don't understand English enough. So the group I mentioned at the beginning of the email would like to produce an informal translation of the text.
We would like to know if that is OK with you. We supposed that there is no interest in translating the book for selling to such a small market, so an "open source" translation would not hurt you and the author (maybe a few readers of the translated version might ask for the original afterwards).
Let me know if we can proceed to do the work.
Thank you,
MAX
