Losman has an 85.1 passer rating for the season. That's good enough for 12th in the league. Better than Grossman, Hasslebeck, Smith, Delhomme, Kitna, Favre, Leftwich, McNair, Eli Manning, Pennington, Wallace, Roethlisberger, Vick, Frye, Gradkowski, Johnson, Plummer, Bledsoe, Leinart, Harrington, Young and Walter. He has 10 touchdowns and only 7 interceptions. Of the other three quarterbacks taken in the first round on his draft year, only Phil Rivers is out playing him this season. Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger are at the bottom of the league for interceptions thrown with 13 and 17 respectively. But Losman is the inconsistent one? Losman has consistently completed over 60% of his passes all season long. in 5 out of 10 games he did not throw an interception. His offensive line is horrible and has allowed him to be sacked 32 times. This is the reason the team has struggled. If you consider that after Lee Evans, Losman has nobody that deserves to be any better than a 3rd string receiver and marginal tight ends to throw to, his stats are even more impressive. Also consider that the line has been so bad that the Bills have to use two tight end sets and use both tight ends for blocking as well as the running back and full back in many games. That means as many as 4 players that could be running pass routes have had to stay back and block. This puts him at a tremendous disadvantage. Even so, he has played better and more consistently than all but 11 quarterbacks in the league. any way that you shuffle the statistics, Losman is in the top half of the league in every category but sacks. You only have to watch a couple Buffalo games to know that the vast majority of sacks were not his fault but the lines. I'd like to know one quarterback in the league who doesn't make a bad throw or throw an ugly interception once in a while. there isn't one. Even Peyton Manning has thrown a few ugly ones this season.
