Un paio di nuovi inserimenti:
The San Francisco 49ers announced Tuesday that they claimed and were awarded third-year DT LaJuan Ramsey off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles. Ramsey was waived by Philadelphia on June 12.

Ramsey (6-3, 300) was originally drafted in the sixth-round of the 2006 draft by Philadelphia out of USC. He played in six games as a rookie in 2006 and nine games last season. Ramsey was part of two national championships during his college career at USC.

Tackle Ramiro Pruneda, who led Monterrey Tech to four Mexican national championships, has been assigned to the 49ers as part of the international practice squad program. He will join the team in training camp.

Pruneda, 6-6, 317 pounds, went to training camp with Kansas City last season and spent the 2007 season on the practice squad for the Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. He was named the best offensive lineman in Mexico three times, and was scheduled to play in NFL Europa last season but pulled out do to a knee injury.

Sixteen of the best international football players from around the world will have an opportunity to play a role in the NFL this season as part of the NFL International Practice Squad Program.

The initiative, which enters its fifth year in 2008, will for the first time feature 16 players joining the practice squads of NFL teams to enhance the development of elite football talent from around the world. The expansion of the program was approved by NFL clubs at the league’s spring meeting in May.

The 16 players from seven different countries have earned positions on the practice squad rosters of teams in the AFC North, AFC West, NFC South and NFC West Divisions. More than 100 players competed at NFL International Player Development camps held in Europe and Asia in the past 12 months for the right to claim these coveted positions.

Si inizia a firmare, finalmente!

Receiver Josh Morgan became the first of the 49ers' draft picks to sign a contract, the club announced just minutes ago. The deal is four years. Contract terms were no immediately known.

Morgan was a sixth-round draft pick out of Virginia Tech. He was the No. 174 overall pick in the draft.

The 49ers have also made a lot of progress with first-round pick Kentwan Balmer, a defensive lineman taken with the No. 29 overall pick. A five-year deal with Balmer is expected to be announced in the near future.

Free-agent offensive tackle Barry Sims is getting close to arriving at a decision on a team. The 49ers are very much in the mix with perhaps a 50-50 shot of landing the nine-year veteran. It might be decided tomorrow. The Ravens, Rams and Patriots were also vying for his services. (I know the math. If four teams are interested, the 49ers would technically have a 25-percent chance. But I'm sticking with the 50-50 odds.)

Bene sicuramente, se consideri chi abbiamo come riserve per la OL...

--Damane Duckett, a coverted defensive tackle, who has never played offensive line in an NFL game.

--Joe Toledo, a newly acquired player, who was seeing action at left tackle. Toledo was a Dophins draft pick in 2006, but has been plagued by injuries and has never played in an NFL game.

--Alan Reuber, who was also freshly signed during OTAs. Reuber has seen action in three NFL games, but none as a starter. He's 27, and entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2004.

Bene l'aquisizione di Sims, non sarà uno che ticambia la linea ma assicurà profondità. Intanto:

Nolan is visiting the troops in Afghanistan this week, as announced by a Combined Security Transition Command press release. Eric Davis, a retired Pro Bowl cornerback with the 49ers, is also taking part in the goodwill tour.

Ah, notizia molto interessante. Ma un "sti cazzi" non ce lo metti? Cerca di fare una scrematura, non puoi riportare anche il tipo di cartaigienica con cui Nolan si pulisce il didietro dopo una cagata.

Bell'acquisizione Sims. Anche se mi piaceva decisamente di più Kwame.
