Butler, whom the 49ers signed as an undrafted free agent, was arrested for DUI drugs and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) after a traffic stop in Reno on Saturday night, according to a report in the Reno Gazette-Journal.
:roll:

Medical update

The 49ers' medical staff had their meeting today to determine how much some of the players will participate during the three weeks of OTAs. Manny Lawson and Joe Cohen, both of whom are coming of ACL injuries, are scheduled to take part only in individual drills. Mark Roman will miss the first week after recent arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder. David Baas (torn pectoral) will be out. Melvin Oliver, who sustained a torn ACL during last year's OTAs, and Tarell Brown (partial tear of his ACL in the final game of the season) are scheduled for full participation.

Firmato l'OT Alan Reuber, con trascorsi a Vikings, Cardinals, Bengals e Buccaneers; intanto Arnaz Battle è assente agli OTA volontari.

* Martz maniaco
When I asked Smith what percentage of the offense he's learned so far, he said he hoped they had most of it down but that he had no clue. He said he's gotten the impression that it's a never-ending process. O'Sullivan told Smith that last year he was still coming into the Lions facility to learn the offense on Tuesday - the players' day off - in Week 17. :shocking:

* Racahl OT:
With Jennings absent, rookie Chilo Rachal was the starter at right tackle. Rachal said after practice that he played two years of tackle in high school and that he practiced at tackle at USC before being moved to guard. He's never played in a college game at tackle.

Here's how Rachal performed in his last series of team drills:

-Blocks Parys Haralson well on a run play.

-Pass protects well on Roderick Green.

-Gets beat badly on an inside pass rush by Isaac Sopoaga.

-On a blitz, Rachal helps inside and then pops out on linebacker Jeff Ulbrich.

-Pass protects well against Haralson.

-Swallows up Haralson on a pass rush on a play where Alex Smith falls while dropping into the pocket. Smith had enough time to bounce up and throw a fluttering but accurate ball to wide receiver Bryant Johnson, who dropped it.

Rachal's last play was his best.

The 49ers have not communicated with Battle about his reasoning behind skipping the OTAs. Because it is a voluntary minicamp, they are not too concerned. The club believes that if Battle wanted to send a message, he would've skipped the mandatory minicamp in May.

:penso:

The 49ers are interested in signing free-agent offensive tackle Barry Sims, who started 119 of the 136 games in his nine-year career with the Raiders. Sims was released at the beginning of free agency. The interest is mutual on Sims' side, his agent said.

The 49ers do not have much depth behind presumptive starting tackles Joe Staley and Jonas Jennings. The club this week moved rookie Chilo Rachal to right tackle after drafting the USC guard in the second round. The second-team right tackle during OTA workouts has been Damane Duckett, who made the transition from defensive line a year ago.

PS 4000 :figo: :truzzo:
