Dal blog di Maiocco, si fa' un gran parlare di possibili trade per salire o scendere in questi giorni:

The 49ers have talked to a dozen or more teams about moving up or moving back.

There's talk that the 49ers and Dolphins have made contact. The Dolphins own the No. 9 pick, where Levi Brown would be the presumed selection. There was a report out of Houston that the Broncos want to move up to take the Texans' spot at No. 10 to undercut the 49ers from taking Patrick Willis.

There is also the possibility the 49ers and Broncos have discussed a trade scenario. The Broncos own the No. 21 selection, and would have to part with their second-round pick, as well as one of their third-round choices. The 49ers and Broncos made a deal last year, in which the 49ers emerged with the first-round selection they used to select Manny Lawson at No. 22.

All these scenarios make some degree of sense.

Personally, I think the 49ers would be willing to trade back if Brown, LaRon Landry and Willis are gone when it's their turn to select.

If the 49ers trade back to 21, it might give them more flexibility in moving up from their second-round pick to get two of the players they have listed among their 20 "first-round talents."

At No. 21, the 49ers could get a receiver (Robert Meachem or Dwayne Bowe), offensive lineman (Joe Staley) or defensive back (Aaron Ross or Reggie Nelson). Then, they could add another quality player if they moved up from No. 42 overall.

E bisogna stare attenti perchè....

According to Adam Caplan and Tony Pauline of Scout.com, the Broncos are talking with the Texans about a trade that would result in the Broncos moving up to No. 10 and Texans moving down to No. 21. This is significant to San Francisco because the Broncos appear to be interested in linebacker Patrick Willis or defensive end Adam Carriker. Defensive tackle Amobi Okoye also appears to be on their radar.

Willis and Carriker are believed to be the top two 49ers targets this weekend.

Lance Zierlein of the Houston Chronicle also seems to have heard the same thing. The following is from his blog today.

I heard from three different sources on Tuesday night and the biggest info potentially involves our boys (referring to the Texans). I'm hearing that the Broncos are going to try and make a move up the draft board and are looking to land somewhere ahead of San Francisco. Why? Because the Broncos are worried that the Niners will target the guy they want to get their hands on ....

1. True 3-4 DE

Likely Targets: Alan Branch (Round 1), Adam Carriker (Round 1), Justin Harrell (Late Round 1), Ryan McBean (Late Round 3), Ikaika Alama-Francis (Late Round 3), Brandon Mebane (Round 4), Tank Tyler (Round 4), Kareem Brown (Late Round 4), Antonio Johnson (Round 6), Cliff Ryan (Round 6) Jeremy Clark (Round 7/FA), Joe Cohen (Round 7/FA)

Alan Branch and Adam Carriker are leading candidates for the team’s 11th overall pick. Either one would be an instant starter with Branch a greater risk than Carriker due to his lack of intensity throughout games. The team could also trade down and pick up Justin Harrell towards the end of round one. If the 49ers don’t draft a DL in the first round, look for them to draft two space eaters in the mid-to-late rounds but the players aren’t surefire pros. Ryan McBean may never be a two-gap DE, Ikaika Alama-Francis didn’t even play football in high school, and Brandon Mebane has size/strength questions. In the late rounds, Antonio Johnson would be a nice developmental player and Cliff Ryan has an intriguing strengthen to speed ratio.

2. Starting Receiver

Likely Targets: Calvin Johnson (Round 1), Dwayne Bowe (Late Round 1), Robert Meachem (Late Round 1), Ted Gin Jr. (Late Round 1), Dwayne Jarrett (Round 2), Sidney Rice (Round 2), Anthony Gonzalez (Late Round 2), Craig Davis (Late Round 2), Jason Hill (Late Round 2), Steve Smith (Round 2), Aundrae Allison (Round 3), Jacoby Jones (Round 3) Laurent Robinson (Late Round 4) David Clowney (Round 5), Paul Williams (Round 5), Mike Walker (Round 5), Yamon Figurs (Round 5) Steve Breaston (Round 6), Legedu Naanee (Round 7/FA),

Calvin Johnson will not be a 49er, but certainly he is the number one player on their board. The drop off from Calvin is pretty steep as Bowe, Meachem, Jarrett, and Ginn Jr. all have their strengthens and weaknesses. I only see the 49ers drafting one of them if they trade down in round one. However if any of those players fall or Sidney Rice is on board for their second round pick, the 49ers will pounce on the receiver. Nolan is trying to get a starting receiver via the draft so look for the 49ers to spend a day one pick on one. The 49ers would gladly pick Gonzalez, Davis, Smith, or Hill late in round two or with their third round pick. Aundrae Allison is an intriguing third round pick playing two years as a JUCO before attending ECU. He is raw but has great initial burst and speed. Jacoby Jones is also considered a big sleeper on day one. Looking at day two, many receivers will be targeted. David Clowney, Laurent Robinson, and Yamon Figurs all are vertical passing threats due to their great speed. Any of these players would add to the competition in training camp for roster spots and could help on special teams.

3. Fast ILB

Likely Targets: Patrick Willis (Round 1), David Harris (Late Round 1), Paul Posluszny (Late Round 1), Lawrence Timmons (Late Round 1), Jon Beason (Late Round 1), Bradon Siler (Round 3), Buster Davis (Late Round 3), Anthony Waters (Round 4), H.B. Blades (Late Round 4), Zak DeOssie (Late Round 4), Justin Durant (Late Round 4), Nate Harris (Round 6), Dedrick Harrington (Round 7)

Patrick Willis is another of the most serious options at the 11th pick. His speed and productivity project him as a great ILB for any scheme. If the 49ers really want a ILB, they might trade down in round one and pick up whoever falls out of Harris, Posluszny, Timmons or Beason. If any of them are still on the board at round two, the 49ers might even consider moving up to get them. Siler and Davis would be nice picks towards the end of the third, but neither of them is a big upgrade over current players (just younger). Anthony Waters is coming off a 2006 season ending injury ACL injury and thus lacks timed speed. He might be a steal in the fourth due to his size, tackling ability, and future potential. Zak DeOssie is another interesting player from Yale but he runs a 4.62 40. He could be a very productive Derek Smith type player for years to come.

4. Depth at NT

Likely Targets: Paul Soliai (Late Round 3), Quintin Echols (Round 6), Walter Thomas (Round 6), Louis Leonard (Round 6)

Paul Soliai is probably a player the 49ers are targeting in rounds 3 and 4. He has a huge frame and great bulk as he weighs 344 pounds. He could be groomed into a nice NT down the road. I think the 49ers might reach for him because there isn’t many other potential NT in the draft. If the 49ers don’t draft Soliai, look for the team to reach with their last pick in the draft for Echols, Thomas or Leonard. Echols isn’t a strong prospect in the NFL except for the fact he’s a big, strong player who can take on blockers. Walter Thomas was dismissed from Oklahoma State after playing a freshmen. He has the talent and size but needs to be coached/developed to reach his potential. Leonard is basically a player who would only be drafted due to his size as he stands at almost 6’5’’ and 322 pounds. Any of these three could help feel the need at NT. At this point in the draft, the 49ers should target players who could make the roster and these certainly have a chance to play as a NT.

5. Offensive Tackle

Likely Targets: Levi Brown (Round 1), Arron Sears (Round 2), James Marten (Round 3), Doug Free (Round 3), Ryan Harris (Late Round 3) Julius Wilson (Round 5), Jacob Bender (Round 6), Ken Shackleford (Round 7/FA)

Some fans might get mad if the 49ers draft Levi Brown in the first, but if he falls I feel the 49ers should grab him. Kwame Harris is basically a bust and Jonas Jennings has had trouble staying healthy. Brown could be a cornerstone of the line for years to come. If Brown doesn’t fall, the team may look at Sears in round two. He has played both tackle and guard which makes him a viable option but I don’t think the team will draft him with their second round pick due to other needs. James Marten, Doug Free, and Ryan Harris all could be selected sometime in the third round. Marten plays with a mean streak, Free can still add size to his frame, and Harris has experience as he started for three and a half seasons. Julius Wilson and Jacob Bender would be good late round picks. Wilson is an interesting pick due to his size 6’4’’ and 327 pounds, and Bender is extremely athletic at a 6’6’’ frame with all the measurables. His problem is he played at Nicholls St. and will have to be developed over time.

6. Free Safety

Likely Targets: LaRon Landry (Round 1), Reggie Nelson (Late Round 1), Brandon Merriweather (Late Round 1), Michael Griffin (Late Round 1), Josh Gattis (Round 3), Eric Weddle (Round 3), John Wendling (Round 4), Michael Johnson (Late Round 4), Marvin White (Round 5), Eric Frampton (Round 5), Brandon Harrison (Round 6)

If LaRon Landry falls, the 49ers will probably pick him up. He could instantly start at free safety and is a top prospect in the draft. Nelson, Merriweather, and Griffin will only be options if we trade down in round one or if they fall into the second. Late in day one, the team will target Eric Weddle and Josh Gattis who are tweener players between corner/safety. They both had solid college careers and appear to be better suited for the safety position than corner. Gattis has a great size to speed ratio and would be a nice late round three pick. In the late rounds, Marvin White or Eric Frampton could be picked up. White is a heck of a hitter and if can understand the game better could be a starter down the road, more likely at the strong safety position. Frampton has great instincts and would be a special teams ace. He could bump another safety off our roster for his special teams ability alone.

7. Offensive Guard

Likely Targets: Ryan Kalil (Round 2), Josh Beekman (Round 3), Mansfield Wrotto (Late Round 4), Manuel Ramirez (Late Round 4), Doug Datish (Late Round 4), Leroy Harris (Late Round 4), Uche Nwaneri (Round 6), Mike Jones/Robert Turner/Tala Esera (Round 7/FA)

Ryan Kalil is the top rated center in the draft, but also plays guard which makes him a great second round pick. I would not be disappointed if the team picks him up if he falls to the second round. In round three, Josh Beekman is the perfect guard for our system: a big sized player who mauls down DL and LBs alike. In the middle rounds, Manuel Ramirez and Mansfield Wrotto have solid ability with great size and bulk. Nolan has commented he wanted to add size to our line and any of these would help. Leroy Harris and Doug Datish are two more players who might be targeted in the middle rounds due to their versatility as they play both guard and center. In the late rounds, Uche Nwaneri could be a steal because he has all the ability in the world to be a solid player. He though has trouble controlling his emotions and broke a teammate’s jaw in an off-season workout.

8. Pass Rusher

Likely Targets: Jarvis Moss (Late One), LaMarr Woodley (Late Round 2), Tim Shaw (Late Round 3), Dan Bazuin (Late Round 3), Antwan Barnes (Round 4), Justin Hickman (Round 5), Jay Moore (Round 5)

Late in round one, Jarvis Moss could be taken and would be an instant OLB starter as he can simply rush the passer. If the 49ers take him, they would have traded down in round one. LaMarr Woodley most likely isn’t being seriously considered by the team, but he can rush the passer like few others at the college level with 12 sacks as a senior. At the end of day one, Tim Shaw would be a nice pick . He’s played both OLB and ILB, and had seven sacks in his senior season. One of my favorite OLBs would be Antwan Barnes from Florida International. He played DE in college like a lot of these guys and lacks ideal size to do so in the NFL. However, he had 23 career sacks and runs a 4.44 40. He has the natural ability to developed into an every down OLB down the road with that speed and pass rushing ability. Drafting him at the end of day one might be worth the risk. Hickman would be a nice late round pickup due to his productivity (12.5 sacks as a senior) but lacks ideal speed (4.75).

9. Running Back To Spell Gore

Likely Targets: Michael Bush (Late Round 3), Tory Hunt (Late Round 3), Lorenzo Booker (Late Round 3), Brandon Jackson (Late Round 3), Darius Walker (Round 4), Kolby Smith (Late Round 4), Dewayne Wright (Late Round 4), DeShawn Wynn (Late Round 4), Garrett Wolfe (Round 7 or FA)

Much like Frank Gore, Michael Bush is seeing his stock plummet due to an injury. Just last month, he had a rod replaced in his leg which prevented him from working out for teams. Bush was once the top rated back in this class, but now may not be drafted on day one. Now, I don’t see the 49ers drafting Bush in round three like they did with Gore, but it’s a nice story and anything could happen come draft day. He has the value and we have the time to develop him. Tory Hunt, Lorenzo Booker, and Brandon Jackson all would be value picks at the end of the first day. I wouldn’t be in love with the pick, but when the value is there the team should jump on a nice back to complement Gore. Brandon Jackson is one of the most underrated and is a shifty back with speed that isn’t afraid to run inside. Most likely the team will pickup someone on day two. Walker, Smith, Wright and Wynn are all possibilities in round 4. Any of them could become our backup running back and would share a portion of the carries with our workhorse Gore.

10. Cornerback To Develop

Likely Targets: Marcus McCauley (Round 3), Josh Wilson (Round 3), Eric Wright (Round 3), Fred Bennett (Late Round Three), Jonathan Wade (Late Round Three), C.J. Gaddis (Late Round 4), Tarell Brown (Late Round 4), David Irons (Late Round 4), Travarous Bain (Round 5), Usama Young (Round 5), Courtney Brown (Round 6)

Most of the targeted corners will go before the rounds listed above. I figure if any of them slide far enough down, the 49ers will pounce on the talent and secondary need. Walt Harris is nearly his retirement, and the team lacks depth. Anyone of these has a chance to see action in the dime situation in their rookie season. McCauley, Wilson, and Wright all are highly rated corners who could become starters down the road. Remember C.J. Gaddis is considered a safety/corner tweener. He would be a nice pickup with a comp pick in the fourth as he could provide depth and competition in two positions. Hopefully, he’ll fare better than Marcus Hudson. Tarell Brown is a very talented corner but was caught twice with marijuana. He might be worth the potential risk with a comp pick at the fourth because he could develop into a starter down the road.

11. Backup FB (Competition)

Likely Targets: Brian Leonard (Late Round 2), Le’Ron McClain (Late Round 4), Cory Anderson (Round 6), Jason Snelling (Round 7/FA)

The only way I see the 49ers getting Brian Leonard is if he falls to the third round, or the 49ers trade around and see the value towards the end of the second. Moran Norris just got paid last season, but isn’t anything special. I could see the 49ers drafting McClain with a comp pick or Anderson in the sixth. They would compete with Princeton grad Zak Keasey for a spot on the roster and eventually for the starting spot against Norris.

Importantissima news, il giocatore è reduce da qualche problema fisico, ma il talento c'è, sarebbe un sicuro upgrade per noi e probabilmente cambiaerà le strategie al draft (anche se non al primo giro):

According to league sources, San Francisco and division rival Seattle are working toward a trade that would send Seahawks wide receiver Darrell Jackson to the Niners in exchange for one of their fourth-rounders, believed to be the Niners' third selection in the round, No. 124 overall. The New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans, whose new general manager Mike Reinfeldt came over from Seattle, are also believed to be talking with Seattle about Jackson.

The deal is contingent upon Jackson passing his physical, scheduled for Saturday at the Niners' Santa Clara, Calif., practice facility. Jackson missed 10 regular-season games in 2005 after undergoing surgery to repair torn cartilage in his right knee, underwent a second operation on the knee following Seattle's loss in Super Bowl XL, and missed the final three regular-season games of last season because of turf toe.

Anche se....

Mike Sando of thenewstribune.com says that while a deal with the Seattle Seahawks for WR Darrell Jackson is not yet complete, San Francisco is likely the leading candidate to get the deal done. This is due to the fact that Jackson will travel to San Francisco on Saturday to take a physical with the team. Jackson was in Tampa on Friday.

He states that another team could still contact the Seahawks and make a better offer for Jackson. He also says that former Seattle quarterback Trent Dilfer, now with the 49ers, has been one of Jackson's strongest supporters.

In 2006, Jackson had 63 catches for 956 yards and 10 touchdowns. He has also had three 1000+ yard seasons in his seven years with Seattle.

He confirmed Darrell Jackson is coming to the Bay Area for a physical today, but he placed the chances of the trade going through as "50-50 at best."

Inoltre:

One more thing about Darrell Jackson ... Mike Nolan said if the trade is finalized today, it will have no affect whatsoever on the 49ers' draft plans.
