Restricted free agent Leon Washington is not part of the Santonio Holmes trade, according to SI's Peter King.
It's still possible that he could be dealt after signing his one-year tender, but King is certain that Leon is not part of this trade. King also updates that the pick acquired by the Steelers was the 151st overall, not the 155th.



As long as Washington doesn't end up in Pittsburgh, this deal is robbery for the Jets.

Al netto della sua storia "legale" e della sospensione, Santonio Holmes varrebbe più di Washington e una quinta; detto questo nell'attuale composizione del nostro backfield Leon W. avrebbe molto senso a mio parere. Comunque ci credo poco.      

Statement by Steelers President Art Rooney II

The investigation process in Georgia has been deliberate and the District Attorney’s decision regarding Ben Roethlisberger speaks for itself.

During the past few weeks I have met with Ben on a number of occasions, not only to discuss this incident, but also to discuss his commitment to making sure something like this never happens again. The Pittsburgh Steelers take the conduct of players and staff very seriously. Ben will now have to work hard to earn back the respect and trust of Steelers fans, and to live up to the leadership responsibilities we all expect of him.

In the coming days Ben will meet with Commissioner Goodell to discuss his resolve to abide by the league’s personal conduct standards. After consultation with the Commissioner, our organization will determine the next steps in this process.

Da quanto ha detto il tizio che ha indetto la conferenza stampa giù in Georgia il Nostro avrebbe invitato la tipa nell'area VIP, l'ha fatta bere fin quasi allo stordimento - ha meno di ventun'anni ed è un reato - e poi se l'è portata al cesso. Lei ci stava e non ci stava...e comunque aveva probabilmente bevuto troppo per capirci qualcosa. Avrebbe avuto inizialmente idea di denunciare l'accaduto, ma poi deve aver fatto marcia indietro. E di fatto Beniamino esce dai guai perchè la poveretta non se la sente di testimoniare e senza di lei il Georgiano verrebbe fatto a pezzi dagli avvocati dell'uomo ricco e famoso. Resta la pessima figura, l'immagine insozzata e a questo punto - nonostante la fede sportiva - un'auspicabile punizione da parte di Goodell che chiarisca un paio di concetti che il ragazzo proprio non riesce a decifrare.

Poco alla volta, tutto inizia ad avere un senso, o quasi. Leon Washington mi piacerebbe molto.

Su Ben, aspettiamo il faccia-a-faccia con Goodell, ma non è detto che lo sospenderà visto che non è stato accusato. Io credo invece che si beccherà una sospesione di un paio di partite proprio dall'organizzazione degli Steelers.

che tristezza passare i mesi a parlare di presunti (mica tanto) stupri, drogati, e imbecilli :reed: invede che di OTA, draft e quantaltro 

ti dirò, se Ben si becca una sospensione dallo sceriffo o dalla squadra appoggio in pieno

se poi vogliamo discutere se il comportamento fuori dal campo deve essere sanzionato o meno dagli organi sportivi, allora è un altro discorso.

Sure, there have been other players break rules for the Steelers. But no Steelers oozed trouble the way Holmes did. Here’s what Ed Bouchette wrote on his blog on PG+ this morning:

``I’ll bet there are players already cheering in the locker room.’’

What more do you need to know.

Plaxico Burress was perceived by many as a troublemaker in his years with the Steelers. Burress was a good teammate and compared to Holmes a great teammate.

Ora che Santonio non è più uno Steeler è più facile che escano storie su quanto fosse brutto, cattivo e rompicoglioni...e ovviamente non è detto che siano tutte vere, anzi...servono anche a indorare la pillola.
