The Royals agreed to sign lefty Chris Dwyer to the biggest bonus ever awarded to a fourth rounder, according to Jim Callis of Baseball America. The Royals will sign Dwyer for $1.5MM, which tops the previous mark, set when the Yankees signed Brad Suttle for $1.3MM two years ago. The Royals have shown a willingness to spend recently, going over-slot by $1.25MM for Dwyer and reportedly offering Aaron Crow $3MM.

After two months of modest signings, teams have begun awarding some historically big bonuses this week. The agent for Orioles 22rd round selection Cameron Bryan Coffey says his client agreed to sign a deal worth $990k, according to Mark Berman of My FOX in Houston. That's more than what first rounders such as Brett Jackson and Tim Wheeler received.
Coffey, a lefty who is recovering from Tommy John surgery, has been clocked in the mid 90s.

Note:
- Everett Williams è stato scelto dai Padres.
- La differenza fra "bonus" e "deal" è che il bonus è una tantum, mentre il deal equivale ad avere un contratto di Major League (quindi con un minimo di 400 K l'anno e con free agency a 6 anni dal momento della firma a meno che il contratto non sia più lungo).
- Scheppers è un illuso.
- Mai mi sarei aspettato che Kendal Volz, Miguel Pena e Josh Spence non firmassero, ma adesso pare che sia così. Invece si poteva anche pensare per Mychal Givens, per esempio.
- Il draft degli A's se non portano a casa Stassi e Dyson cala di qualità notevolmente.

The Royals agreed to sign catcher Wil Myers for $2MM, according to Jim Callis of Baseball America. The bonus is one of the biggest ever for a third round pick and is five times bigger than the bonus MLB recommends for the slot. Some clubs considered Myers a first round talent and some have compared him to former NL MVP Dale Murphy, who also began his career behind the plate.

I Royals stanno investendo pesante nel draft o sbaglio? :D

Adesso manca solo Matt Helm per firmare tutte le nostre scelte importanti. Ma avendo firmato sia Davidson che Borchering che Wheeler, Helm potrebbe anche non firmare (specie se continuasse a chiedere tanti soldi) perchè rischierebbe di avere poco spazio. Comunque bene così, molto bene così. Gran draft ed abbiamo firmato quasi tutti. Certo, Helm sarebbe la ciliegina sulla torta. Poi possiamo pensare a firmare gli europei

Lunedi a mezzanotte è la deadline per firmare.

Ora delle prime 20 scelte ci mancano solo la 11 e la 20. Non abiamo firmato nemmeno Chris Walker, e non so se sia nei piani firmarlo immaginando che chiede abbastanza per un 49° giro...

Leake a ieri non era ancora ufficiale.
Ci sono ancora oggi e domani per firmare i giocatori. Pare che Strasburg verrà firmato, con ovviamente un bonus record.

Gli Yankees annunciano a pochi minuti di distanza le firme di Heathcott (1° giro), JR Murphy (2°) e Cotham (5°). Tyler Lyons è l'unica scelta tra le prime 15 non ancora firmate, ma probabilmente tornerà a Oklahoma State.
Per Cotham 675.000 dollari, per gli altri bonus ancora non noti.

Se i Nats offrono poco sono coglioni.
Ma se Boras di fronte a un'ottima offerta (ma non considerata soddisfaciente) convincesse Strasburg a non firmare facendogli perdere un anno non sarebbe da meno.
