E' arrivato un altro veterano sulla linea difensiva. Lui, al contrario di Damione Lewis, sembra più da 3-4. Riguardo Hernandez, Belichick ha detto che al contrario di Gronkowski dovrebbe allinearsi "wide", cioè non in linea con gli offensive lineman, ma più come un ricevitore. Tipo Dallas Clark per intenderci.

Pat Paschall (RB) - North Dakota State, 6’0” 206 lbs. - Pascall is a big time playmaker that is a threat to score every time he touches the football.  A creative runner, Paschall can go around and threw unsuspecting defenders with a multitude of moves.  He can spin out of the grasp of a defender, and gets to top speed ultra fast.  He runs with great balance, and effectively runs “inside/out.”  He is patient when running inside, and knows exactly when to break a run outside.  Paschall is also adept at using the entire width of the field to his advantage.  He sees the field well and can set up defenders in the second level even before he crosses the line of scrimmage.  He uses shoulder fakes in addition to stiff arms to get by defenders, and can even leap over unsuspecting opponents.  Scouts question whether he has the lower body strength to hold up as an inside runner, but he’s good enough of a receiver to stick around as at least a third-down back. 

Cleveland drafted Warren three picks before New England took Richard Seymour in 2001. The Patriots traded Seymour to the Raiders before last season. Lewis was taken by the St. Louis Rams with the 12th pick in that draft

Report: Failed test cost Hernandez.

New England Patriots rookie tight end Aaron Hernandez had at least one failed drug test at Florida for marijuana, and possibly more, which contributed to him slipping to the fourth round of the NFL draft, the Boston Globe reported Monday night.
The Globe quoted unnamed sources from three NFL teams in the report. The report stated that Hernandez passed his drug test at the combine, which means he won't start his NFL career in the league's substance-abuse program.
The Globe report quoted one NFL longtime executive who said Hernandez "had multiple positive tests" at Florida.
According to the report, Hernandez was open with teams at the NFL combine about his past marijuana use, explaining that it stemmed from the 2006 death of his father, Dennis, who died of complications following hernia surgery while Hernandez was a junior in high school.

Io penso che le uniche squadre che possono essere interessate a lui sono proprio in division. Tutte giocano al 3-4, Ryan e Nolan hanno delle connessioni con lui... E' praticamente scontato che rimanga nella AFC East. Un suo approdo ai Jets mi farebbe abbastanza preoccupare, perché lì giocano la difesa che è più congeniale a lui (blitz a manetta). Quando venne ai Patriots si parla di un giocatore multidimensionale, era stato soprannominato il "coltellino svizzero" di Belichick, e invece a me sembra che se ne sia andato da giocatore monodimensionale, praticamente con noi non è riuscito a fare niente di quello che gli è stato chiesto (ILB, OLB, DE... niente!), proprio per colpa del nostro schema più attendista e meno offensivo di quello che giocava a Baltimore.

Mi sembra però che l'anno della perfect season non andò male !?
