Everyone knows that the 49ers greatest need this offseason is to obtain a right tackle. This is why most mock drafts have the 49ers using one of their first-round picks on a tackle.

The release of Adams made me think of the last time the Cowboys released a high profile O-lineman, Larry Allen. Allen came to the 49ers and gave Frank Gore an instant boost. Gore had 1,695 rushing yards in 2006, a franchise high.

While Flozell is not Larry Allen—he only has five Pro Bowl selections to Allen's 11—he could come in and be an instant upgrade on the Niners' offensive line.

There are reasons not to look at Adams. One is that he has shown a lack of discipline, including a well-documented tripping penalty last year that injured Justin Tuck. He is consistently one of the most penalized players in the NFL.

Also, he has been criticized for having lost a step and being beat on a regular basis by some of the better pass rushers in the league.

The second problem could be resolved by a move to the right side, where San Francisco would want him to play. Joe Staley should be back and healthy on the left side, so Adams would be able to play RT and match up against less-talented pass rushers.

Signing Adams would free the 49ers to pick the best players available in the first round and not reach for an OT. They could also look at players, like Vlad Ducasse or Mike Iupati, who would need a year or two to develop before they could play RT.

Another benefit to signing Adams would be that he can and has played LT, giving the team extra depth. It would almost guarantee that we won't see Adam Snyder at tackle at any point next year, a relief for all 49er fans.

The window for winning the NFC West is wide open, and the 49ers need to look at signings that will help them win now. Adams would be better this year at RT then any rookie, so San Francisco should take a serious look at signing him.

Il fatto è che prendeva 100 e rendeva per 50, chi gli offre un contratto da 50 60 fa un buon affare. Magari non è più un pro-bowler, ma ha ancora un paio di stagioni da solido LT.
