TT piazza un po' a sorpresa il tag su corey williams (c'è chi dice che ora si cercherà una trade....vedremo).

intanto viene tagliato bubba franks: Franks played in 114 games for the Packers and made 94 starts. A first-round draft choice in 2000, he totaled 256 catches and 2,300 career receiving yards. His 32 touchdown receptions are tied for 10th on the franchise's all-time list.

a bubba anche se negli ultimi anni, e non è che sia vecchissimo, aveva deluso e molto. il tutto dopo che mike sherman (sempre lui) gli aveva fatto firmare un contratto spropositato. con questa mossa libeariamo spazio sul cap. mi pare che bubba dovesse ricevere più di 5 milioncini quest'anno.

Okay, we’re a little leery right now because we swung and miss on this one back in 2006.  But it looks a lot more official this time around.

A page on the Packers official web site announces that quarterback Brett Favre will retire.  However, there’s no mention of it on the front page of the team’s official site.

So either it’s accurate or the team has a dummy page ready in the event Favre quits or someone has hacked into the Packers’ official site and posted a phony announcement.

Profootballtalk.com had a link to a page on the Packers' website that apparently was to announce Brett Favre's retirement, but has since been taken down.
The announcement wasn't linked to on the front page of the Packers' site, and now requires an administrator login. The page did mention that it was special template to handle increased traffic, so may have been just a dummy page in case Favre retires. We'll update if we find out more.

The Green Bay Packers started the free agency period two days early, signing former Miami offensive tackle Joe Toledo on Wednesday.

Technically, Toledo is not an unrestricted free agent. He was cut by the Dolphins on Feb. 12 and has been eligible to negotiate with anyone since his release.

The 6-5, 320-pound Toledo was inactive all of last season because of a foot injury. He did not play during the exhibition season and was placed on the physically unable to perform list Aug. 29.

He returned to practice Nov. 7, but the Dolphins chose not to activate him and he was eventually put on injured reserve. He was released after the Dolphins cleaned house, bringing in Bill Parcells to run the operation.

Toledo also missed his entire rookie season of 2006 with a knee injury he suffered in training camp.

Toledo played at the University of Washington, where he started out as a tight end and then moved to tackle his senior year. He started 23 games in college but only six were at tackle.
