Nessun movimento alla deadline, eccetto un marginale upgrade riguardo al ruolo di bench player, Hairston jr sostituirà Ransom.
Nessuno starter, nessun rilievo, almeno per il momento dobbiamo continuare con quello che abbiamo.
Se arriverà qualcuno, dovrà farlo attraverso i waivers.
Nel frattempo, flashback di inizio stagione, il partente Wang Mitre dura 3 inning, il bullpen deve lanciare 6 5 inning e collassa, l'attacco va 2/10 RISP e perdiamo la partita. Sox di nuovo a -1.5.
Stasera serve un super Burnett.

Certo che forse uno SP serviva eh, questo Mitre non mi sembra veramente granchè. Andando avanti così dobbiamo veramente sperare che i nostri 4 partenti non abbiano problemi di infortuni altrimenti sarà durissima...

Ma riportare Hughes al suo ruolo naturale di starter?

Altra partita oscena, ricordo di inizio stagione.
Burnett 4.2 IP con 7 punti subiti, negli ultimi 2 giorni 7.2 IP combinati dagli starter.
Il bullpen sovraesposto collassa di nuovo.
PS: datemi 1 sola buona ragione per cui Ransom vede ancora il campo.

Era già stato giustamente previsto da qualcuno: oggi per curiosità ho dato un'occhiata alle stats di Aceves prima e dopo l'inutile partenza contro i Twins del 9 luglio:

Prima: 21 presenze 40.0 IP, 30 H, 9 ER, 34 K e 7 BB. Che significano 6.75 H/9, 2.02 ERA, 7.65 K/9, 1.57 BB/9, 4.86 K/BB e 40/54 GB/FB

Dopo: 6 presenze 8.1 IP, 11 H, 10 ER, 4 K e 4 BB. Per un totale di 11.88 H/9, 10.80 ERA, 4.32 K/9, 4.32 BB/9, 1 K/BB e 11/17 GB/FB

La WHIP è praticamente raddoppiata; certo si tratta di un simple size ridottissimo e nelle prime gare era stato piuttosto fortunato in termini di BABIP però le cifre mi ricordano quanto successo ad Harang lo scorso anno e di cui si parlò nel forum.

Brutte da notizie dalle minors, Montero fuori per il resto della stagione a seguito della frattura di un dito della mano destra.

Trenton catcher Jesus Montero is out for the rest of the minor-league season after fracturing the middle finger on his right hand in a game last night. According to Brian Cashman, he will be out 4-6 weeks.

He hit .317/.370/.539 in 44 games at Trenton with nine homers and 33 RBI. In 48 games at Tampa, he had .356/.406/.583 numbers with eight homers and 37 RBI. Oh, and he turns 20 in November.

Vittoria fondamentale, soprattutto avendo un day off domani. Arrivarci con un 4-games sweep sarebbe stato veramente pessimo, invece così speriamo possa ricaricare le pile per la trasferta di Toronto. Come detto grande Melky, cycle che agli Yankees non succedeva da ben 14 anni! CC malino all'inizio, ma dopo il terzo inning ha lanciato alla grande.

Finalmente si torna alla vittoria.Grande Melky,quest'anno ha fattto veramente tanti miglioramenti in attacco (in difesa era gia' molto forte).Torno per un attimo alla trade deadline.Rimango stupito del fatto che non si sia sentita l'urgenza dell'acquisto di un pitcher.Abbiamo una rotazione a 4 con Joba che fra qualche gara esaurira' gli innings,Wang perso per la stagione.Non credo si possa andare avanti con Mitre che ora fa il 5° e poi diventera' il 4° al posto di Joba.O Cashman ha qualcosa nel cilindro o si rischia di buttare la stagione dopo aver fatto un mercato pazzesco a gennaio!

The Royals have DFA’d Sir Sidney Ponson. This invariably means the Yankees will sign him to a minor-league contract. Why not? They have twice before.

Sir Sidney was 1-7 with a 7.36 ERA for the Royals. He gave up 79 hits and 25 walks in 58.2 innings. But he was 4-4, 5.85 for the Yankees last season and that makes him better than Sergio Mitre.

God help us.

Purtroppo è una delle poche ipotesi che ci permetterebbero di non scendere di livello (almeno per quanto riguarda la rotazione)...
