visto che abbiamo bisogno di un pitcher perchè invece di aspettare non andiamo a prenderci koruda magari ne esce un buon pitcher in attesa di vedere cosa fare con santana

Si, proprio un ottimo colpo per gli Yankees.
Ottimo colpo anche per me che dopo tutto il merchandising che mi sono comprato di Arod, se andava via dagli Yankees mi potevo anche vendere tutto a e bay come materiale di scartissimo, invece... Potrò indossare la mia maglia ancora per un altra stagione...
Insomma A-Rod le stagioni dispari prende l'MVP, quelle pari ha risultati al di sotto delle sue medie...

Rodriguez said opting out was "a mistake that was handled extremely poorly."

"It was a huge debacle," he said, calling the timing "distasteful and very inappropriate."

A-Rod said Boras gave him the impression the Yankees weren't interested in bringing him back, which surprised him.

"Our goals were not aligned," Rodriguez said. "It felt funny to me."

He said he and Boras agreed the slugger would opt out of his deal, but Rodriguez thought the move would be revealed after the World Series.

"I made mistakes. I've got to look in the mirror. If I had to do it again, I would've called Hank from Day 1 and negotiated myself," Rodriguez said.

But he soon called Steinbrenner.

"If he hung up on me, I wouldn't have been surprised. I thought my career was over with the Yankees," Rodriguez said.

He said once he did get in touch with Steinbrenner and his brother Hal, an executive vice president with the Yankees, it didn't take long to reach an agreement.

"Within two conversations we got a deal done," Rodriguez said.

a-rod può sparare quante cazzate vuole...rimane il fatto che:
1. boras è un genio
2. a-rod alla fine con incentivi prende così tanti soldi quanti voleva boras (peccato che giornalisti mainstream ecc. di questo fatto se ne dimentichino e vedono l'intera cosa come sconfitta personale di scott).
3. a-rod deve parlare così...che figura farebbe a tornare dopo essere uscito dal contratto? cosa avrebbero detto i tifosi? avrebbe avuto una vita di "merda" la prossima stagione (e probabilmente anche oltre).
4. conclusione: a-rod prende più soldi, a-rod mantiene la faccia, boras ha raggiunto il suo obbiettivo precedentemente fissato, hank è contento e si sente un dio per aver portato indietro a-rod.

Boras è bravo, nessuno può negarlo, ma c'è da dire che riesce sempre a fare affari con dei pirloni mica da ridere. Sovente fa firmare contratti esagerati. Rispetto al valore del giocatore (Zito) o a offerte concorrenti (A-Rod) o a tutti e due. Fossi nei GM farei un cartello anti Boras, dal loro punto di vista fa più danni della grandine...

ripeto quello che ho detto quando usci il rumor del riavvicinamento tra yankees ed a-rod...
gli yankees avevano fretta...erano fortissimi su santana...e per non perdere tempo decisero di offrire a boras quello che voleva per concentrarsi sulla trade per l'asso della rotation...

Non vedo il nesso... Avrebbero potuto aspettare e rinviare l'affare fino alla conclusione con Santana. La priorità d'altronde è ed era un top SP, sarebbe stato più saggio attendere e vedere come le altre squadre avrebbero reagito. La fretta non è di certo una scusante, poi figurati se gli Yankees non possono seguire due affari in contemporanea...
