the first-round draft order has been set. The 49ers will pick No. 29, with the Packers picking 30th and the N.Y. Giants at No. 31.

Ma la moneta l'hanno tirata per le scelte di Atlanta e company? I mock che leggo sono ufficiali nelle posizioni alte?

Credo proprio di no. O almeno io non ho letto niente in merito, anzi sull'ultimo PFW diceva che ancora doveva essere sorteggiato l'ordine.

Un paio di anni fa, quando bisongnava decidere le posizioni di Niners e Raiders, il sorteggio fu fatto pochi giorni prima del draft.

San Francisco wins coin toss for 6th pick
INDIANAPOLIS - The San Francisco 49ers won a coin toss Friday and will get the sixth pick in the April breeze, followed by the Oakland Raiders.
The Bay Area teams both completed 4-12 last season, tying for the sixth and seventh picks. Because they also tied on strength of program, a coin toss was required.
The draft will be held in New York on April 29-30. Houston, New Orleans, Tennessee, the New York Jets and Green Bay have the first five picks.

The third, fourth and fifth picks in the 2008 draft will be ultimately decided by a coin-flip scenario involving the Falcons, Raiders and Chiefs, which is likely to take place at the NFL Scounting Combine in Indianapolis in February.

According to San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Nolan, the team may look to draft a big, bruising running back in the 2008 NFL Draft. The bigger back would be used to take some of the load off of RB Frank Gore next season.

Secondo me una mossa del genere bisognava farla già l'anno scorso, meglio tardi che mai.
Cioè, in effetti nel 2007 era stato draftato Thomas Clayton (non so se un power back perché non l'ho mai visto...) ma è rimasto tutta la stagione in practice squad; a questo punto deduco che non abbia convinto.
