Direi che per essere un rookie scelto alla 32 si è beccato un gran bel contratto!

Buona notizia...
Per la questione Simon io preferisco attendere il campo per giudicare la sua eventuale utilità...
Io ero un grande estimatore di Simon, ma vuoi per il fatto che il suo primo anno da noi si presentò non proprio "snello" tant'è che fu addirittura Dungy a scomodarsi a dire che doveva cercare di calare un pò di chili..., considerando che è stato un anno fermo per problemi di salute (e da quello che ho avuto modo di leggere durante l'anno neanche tanto trascurabili...) non so a che livello possa rientrare...
Certo è che la sua stazza da balena farebbe salire un pò la media peso della nostra DL (visto anche come pesa gente come Brock o lo stesso Freeney)
Certo se dovesse tornare il giocatore che era a Philadelphia sarà accolto a braccia aperte...

Colts owner Irsay: DT Simon will be released
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (Aug. 1, 2007) -- Colts owner Jim Irsay said he expected to release former Pro Bowl tackle Corey Simon within the next few days, ending months of speculation concerning Simon's future with the Super Bowl champions.
Simon did not pass his physical over the weekend. He was expected to report to camp on time July 29 but was never seen at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology.
Irsay tried to clarify Simon's status with the team.
"Hopefully, we'll have something worked out with that. I think he may pursue his opportunities somewhere other than here," Irsay said. "I think we may come to an agreement in the next few days and he may pursue other places to play. I think it's better to get it resolved in the next day or two."
Simon did not play last season and was eventually placed on the non-football illness/injury list with an undisclosed ailment. Since winning the Super Bowl, the Colts have been debating what to do with Simon.
"Free agency is really risky and when they came to me with the opportunity, I was OK in going for it," Irsay said. "You know the risk is there, and it simply didn't work out. But as an owner who pays the checks, winning the Super Bowl is a nice, massaging balm cream to ease the pain."
Simon did not play last season and was eventually placed on the non-football illness/injury list with an undisclosed ailment. Since winning the Super Bowl, the Colts have been debating what to do with Simon.
Colts coach Tony Dungy said he had been in touch with Irsay concerning the move.
"I didn't know how far along we were but I knew that was the direction we were going," Dungy said.

Cmq sta cosa da una parte un pò mi dispiace per il fatto che un giocatore di quel peso in una DL come la nostra poteva esserci molto utile...Ma quel tipo di guaio fisico è troppo un incognita in effetti, e forse alla fine di tutta questa storia, questa soluzione (che era nell'aria da un bel pò)potrebbe rivelarsi la più scontata e ragionevole...

The Colts also waived rookie wide receiver Michael DePriest and placed tight end Mike Seidman on injured reserve with a knee injury. Seidman was signed this past spring after five seasons with Carolina.
Indianapolis also signed a pair of free agents, defensive end Noland Burchette and wide receiver Aaron Brown. Burchette is a 6-foot-2, 259-pound rookie defensive lineman who played at Virginia Tech. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by Atlanta.
Brown is a 6-3, 212-pound rookie receiver who played at New Hampshire. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by Buffalo.
