Quarterback Shaun Hill has been suffering from back spasms after Sunday's game and he is listed as questionable for the season finale against the Browns.

Backup Chris Weinke took all the 49ers' first-team reps during practice today. He would make his 20th NFL start if Hill is unable to play. Weinke is 2-17 in his career as a starter.

Hill sustained a big hit to his back on a first-half scramble. In the third quarter, he sustained bruised ribs when Tampa Bay defensive lineman Gaines Adams leveled him with a hit that prompted a roughing-the-passer penalty.

Cosa sono queste? Le cifre del contratto di Clements. Visto che qua sembra che noi siamo gl'incapaci idioti che danno contratto "ad michiam"....
Queste sono solo le cifre, ma i contratti NFL sono quasi sempre così complicati che è difficile definirli per bene. Per es, nel caso, gli ultimi due anni di contratto di Clements sono di puro salario, senza bonus (come dire....non verranno mai percepiti! però il contratto è più bello da mostrare a quelle cifre), anzi se non sbaglio (come detto in queste cose non si sanno quasi mai i dettagli specifici) nel terz'ultimo anno i 49ers dovrebbero pagare un bonus per confermare gli altri anni rimanenti (per es. nel contratto di Smith c'è una clausola secondo cui i 49ers dovrebbero pagare un bonus di 8 mil quest'anno per far sì che il contratto scada nel 2008, ci sono vari tipi di opzioni in un contratto NFL). Inoltre nel contratto ci sono vari roster bonus e altre cose che lo completano. Una cosa è certa: i signing bonus sono quelli che fanno diventare ricco un giocatore perchè sono quelli che vanno assolutamente pagati, si possono spalmare su diversi anni ma sono poi quelli che diventano i cosiddetti dead money quando un giocatore viene tagliato.

Sull'incidenza delle prestazioni di Clements non mi dilungo tanto ognuno avrà le sue idee, ma volevo solo mettere in chiaro le cose circa il suo contratto (non trovo più il pezzo, ma il suo stesso agente disse in un'intervista che sì....gli ultimi due anni si sarebbero potuti pure togliere...ma fa' più effetto il contratto se esposto come da 80 milioni).

Certo che dover dare quasi un milione a Mike Rumph è pesante. camperà di rendita alla faccia di York e co.

S'ipotizzava che se dopo l'ultima partita York non avesse subito ribadito la sua fiducia in Nolan le probabilità che questo non ritorni l'anno prossimo sarebbe aumentate. Questo quello che ha risposto York:
