però potrebbe essere proprio un grande acquisto per noi, dato che quest' anno abbiamo sofferto molto la mancanza di un terminale nei terzi down e nella red zone. Guardando un po' le sue statistiche per il 2008 mi hanno colpito, oltre alle 92 ricezioni e quasi 1000 yds in un anno in cui la sua squadra è stata disastrosa, il fatto che sui terzi down ha fatto 31 ricezioni con 26 primi down e 3 TD, nella red zone 7 ricezioni con 4 primi down e 3 td. Mi sembrano statistiche abbastanza significative, anche se non ho trovato il numero di passaggi lanciati verso di lui in quelle situazioni, per capire la percentuale.

Comunque con Brady a lanciargli la palla

farebbero una bella coppia.

Forse (dico forse...) la lunga ricerca sta per avere fine: Hue Jackson, QB coach dei Ravens sarà intervistato oggi per la seconda volta e tutto lascia presumere che sarà lui il nostro nuovo OC. Inoltre sarà intervistato anche Mike Johnson per la posizione di QB coach.

Per quanto riguarda Hus...Uosma.....vabbé insomma quellolà sono d'accordo con multiple; il giocatore mi intriga parecchio ma le cifre che girano mi sembrano un po' eccessive, vista anche l'età. Comunque chiudiama lo storia dell'OC poi finalmente potremo iniziare a pensare ai FA.

solo un piccolo aggiornamento per il cuore infranto di Jeremy, CM dovrebbe da quest'anno lavorare per la NFL films.

Cercherò di farmene una ragione...

E' morto Billy Wilson, WR dei 49ers negli anni 50, sei volte al Pro Bowl e quinto nella storia dei niners per yards ricevute.

Intanto c'è l'ennessimo candidato alla posizione di OC: trattasi Jimmy Raye, allenatore di RB ai Jets l'anno passato e con diverse esperienze, non molto positive in verità, come coordinatore. :roll:

Jets assistant Jimmy Raye, a 32-year coaching veteran, is in Santa Clara today to interview for the club's vacant offensive-coordinator position.

Raye served as the Jets' running backs coach since 2006 under Eric Mangini, but he is not expected to be retained on Rex Ryan's staff. Raye was 49ers receivers coach in 1977 under Ken Meyer.

Ravens quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson interviewed for the second time for the 49ers' O.C. job on Tuesday. Raye becomes the eighth individual who has sat down with coach Mike Singletary and GM Scot McCloughan about the opening. Singletary fired Mike Martz on Dec. 30.

The 49ers have hired longtime NFL assistant Jimmy Raye as offensive coordinator, the NFL Network's Adam Schefter reported, citing league sources.

The 49ers are saying nothing until they have Raye's signature on the deal. Raye, apparently, has yet to put pen to paper. But there is no reason to question the veracity of the report.

Spero che Singletary abbia visto cose che sfuggono ai miei occhi... ma mi è già scesa la catena... e di brutto...

Non posso che quotare e sperare che questo commento sul blog di Maiocco abbia un qualche fondo di verita'

There are two general possibilities: Either Singletary is stupid, or he is smart. If he is stupid, then read all the other comments. If he's smart, read on.

What can fit together the following facts: 1. Singletary was hired after presenting to the Yorks, where he presented his plan for continuity on offense. 2. He fired Martz right away. 3. He hired Rathman right away. 4. He proposed to an O coordinator who said "No". 5. He interviews many old-timers. 6. He finally hires an old-timer?

Simple - Stan said it earlier - he's grooming Rathman. Point #1 - Yorks agreed that Rathman's the choice. #2. Martz is not the right mentor. #3. Rathman's the guy. He was hired right away. #4. He proposed 'cause Linehan is Christian (and a good coordinator and possibly a dream mentor). Linehan rejected because he wants his own gig. #5. Old-timers are more likely to be mentors. #6. Which is the case...

SO, in translation, welcome Tom Rathman: your long-term O-Coordinator.

in questo caso non era più conveniente prendere Raye, o un' altro old-timer

come offensive assistant per Rathman e un OC vero?

A me sembra che dopo il rifiuto di Linehan la situazione si sia un po' confusa, forse perciò se n'è andata CM

Fare l'HC in off-season è diverso dal fare l'HC durante la stagione. Ci vogliono abilità e conoscenze diverse che non sempre possono coesistere nella stessa persona. Per questo avevo detto che avevo molta paura per questa off-season e per le scelte che si sarebbero fatte, non perché sarebbero state sicuramente sbagliate ma perché sarebbero state a rischio. Spero vivamente che le impressioni che avevo si rivelino sbagliate, intanto continuo a stringere forte le chiappe e torno in esilio.

Dopo il SB si deve aprire il nuovo topic, chi si prova quest'anno? :lol2:

The offense is also a work in progress. The key thing we need to do this offseason is make sure we get some stability on that side of the ball from the coordinator stand point. We want to know that we have a group of guys who are going to have the same system for a couple years. It’s not going to be changing each season as it has since we’ve been here. That’s important. I think once you see stability from the coaching staff, you’ll see the players start playing better.

Queste parole di McCoso possono dare una chiave di lettura alla scelta dell'O.C.
L'ultima volta in cui si e' scelto cercando di garantire continuita' non mi pare sia andata molto bene...
