Emeka Okafor: “Emeka is underrated as far as the center is concerned. Dominant at times. I think he’ll be better this year with a year under his belt. I think he’s underappreciated.”

Morris Peterson:  “Mo’s a pro. Veteran, savvy, been in a number of situations. A guy that we’re going to have to rely on.”
James Posey: “He’s a champion. He’s done it on two teams (Heat, Celtics). He’s proven that he’s going to be there when the money is on the line.”
Darius Songaila**: “Gifted in things that people may not appreciate. Good passer, better shooter and really crafty.”
Peja Stojakovic**: “One of the best shooters in the league for a number of years. Hopefully, he’s over his back issues — and he’ll be able to solidify his place as one of the best shooters in the history of the game.”
Marcus Thornton: “A guy that’s hungry, scrappy. Caught the league off guard last year. Going to have to really work to fend off the defenders this year, and he’s got to improve defensively.”
David West: “All-Star. A guy that draws a double-team every night. Tough as nails. A guy that is a foundation piece for any organization.”
Julian Wright: “Julian Wright is a guy with a lot of talent. Has to improve. He’s got to change some things in his game, and I certainly hope to help him with that.”

Ecco che iniziano le prime voci abbastanza ovvie:

Collison si scambia in coppia con uno tra Peja(più papabile e fattibile), Posey o Okafor.

Mi sembra una mossa doverosa, Collison deve giocare titolare, e che sia un puntare senza "dubbi" futuri su Paul...

Se proviamo a disegnare un ossatura della squadra che potrebbe nascere secondo me stiamo più o meno così:

PAUL-Pargo?(è free agent e sappiamo quanto piace alla dirigenza)
M.THORTON-?(magari rifirmiamo R.Butler anche se è più probabile che arrivi qualcuno dagli scambi)
X(un 3 forte che arriverà presumibilmente col pacchetto Collison-Peja)-Posey?/J.Wright?(il primo ha 2 anni di contratto pesanti ed è difficile da scambiare, il secondo è in scadenza ed è giovane ha molto più mercato)
WEST-Songaila?(vedremo se lo teniamo dopo la buona stagione, ha buon mercato perchè in scadenza)-Lungo Draft?
OKAFOR(non credo sia possibile da scambiare con quel contratto,e comunque io darei un altra chances ad un giocatore di 28 anni che non salta una partita da 4 anni e che nella sua peggior stagione ha fatto 10p 9rim 1,8st...)-Chandler?(pare che uscirà fuori dal suo contratto magari lo rifirmiamo a buone cifre)-Lungo Draft?


Le pedine sicure dovrebbero essere 4/5 del quintetto e il quinto è un 3 che arriverà dagli scambi. In panchina dovrebbe esserci solo Posey abbastanza sicuro come back-up del nuovo 3, con J.Wright più facile che venga scambiato, Peterson sicuramente via(6mil in scadenza), Collison e Peja pure; sotto canestro dei 2 back-up uno sarà sicuramente l'11 scelta al draft, l'altro o Songaila oppure qualcun altro(Chandler?).

Se ci muoviamo bene abbiamo tanti contratti e anche buoni giocatori da scambiare, e un ossature di partenza molto buona, si può fare una squadra molto competitiva

Ultimamente leggo in giro per i mock draft che si vorrebbe prendere una SF alla 11. Io spero vivamente di no, la classe rookie dell'anno prossima sembra molto folta di buoni Centri e a noi del tonnellaggio là sotto serve come il pane. Per la PG spero non si vada a spendere troppo e comunque io Peja non lo vedo così facilmente in uscita, non so chi vorrebbe prenderselo dandoci anche qualcosa di decente in cambio (Collison per l'età è un playmaker già abbastanza maturo e comunque ha molto talento).

Per quanto riguarda Emeka io un pò il mercato lo sonderei visto che c'è il rischio che tra una paio d'anni davvero può diventare un giocatore COMPLETAMENTE sprovvisto di appetibilità in uno scambio. Abbiam preso un contratto che sale di 1M fino al 2014 non esattamente ciò che vorrebbe chiunque. Da questo punto di vista infatti io proverei a dare Darren e Emeka più che darren e Peja che ha la sua appetibilità visto il contratto in scadenza e fose qualcosa di buono lo cavi anche a gennaio. Per quanto io non sopporti il fatto che Peja non tiene sul primo passo neanche una nonna con passeggino e che vorrebbe dire un altro anno difficile per superare un eventuale primo turno.

Mi chiedo piuttosto come abbiamo fatto a convincere Davidone a firmare un contratto a Scendere XD dai 9 attuali ai 7 milioni nel 2012 (avrà parlato con Giacobbo)

A parte che io stravedo per il turko però se si vuol dar via Collison è più logico provare a dar via uno dei due pacchi più grossi che abbiamo (PEJA e in parte Emoka)

a prescindere da questo la dirigenza DEVE agire per dare sicurezze a CP3, giocatori così in giro per la terra non se ne trovano ;D

Chris Paul Open To A Trade

With trade speculation swirling around him, Chris Paul said Wednesday that he's open to a trade if the New Orleans Hornets aren't committed to winning championships.

"My first choice is to be in New Orleans,'' Paul said in a telephone interview from London. "I just want to make sure we're committed to winning. If we're not committed to winning and trying to get better so we can contend with the Lakers, the Celtics and all these other top teams, then I'm open to being traded.''

Reports that clubs have been making offers for Paul surfaced earlier this week. Hornets general manager Jeff Bower denied that the club was shopping its three-time All-Star point guard, but admitted to having dialogue with other teams concerning "all of our players.'' New Hornets coach Monty Williams said he expects Paul to remain in New Orleans.

But around the league, speculation remains that the Hornets may move Paul. With owner George Shinn's proposed sale to Gary Chouest being delayed for financial reasons, opposing executives believe New Orleans may have to trade Paul and the $50 million owed to him over the next three seasons.

"If George Shinn can't sell the team, I think Chris Paul will be traded," an executive from an Eastern Conference team said. "Shinn's strapped for money. He's going to have to move him."

Paul said he does not have a wish list of teams he'd like to play for and emphasized that his desire is to remain in New Orleans -- as long as the Hornets are doing all they can to compete for a title.

After reaching the second round of the playoffs two years ago, the Hornets have been on the decline and failed to make the postseason last year. Opposing executives aren't convinced the club has the financial resources to build the team into a consistent contender.

"I'm fine with staying in New Orleans, but I want to make sure we're committed to winning," said Paul, whose been lauded for the community work he's done in New Orleans. "I don't want to rebuild. I want to win now. It's nothing personal against the city. I love that city. But my biggest thing is winning."

Paul admitted that the free-agent frenzy surrounding LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and others is making him long to be in the best possible situation in terms of winning.

"I'm friends with D-Wade, LeBron, Chris Bosh, Joe Johnson and all these other free agents," said Paul, who's in London promoting his Brand Jordan sneakers. "I'm watching them try to figure out what they're going to do to put themselves in a position to win championships. I'd love to be a part of that stuff."

The reported offers for Paul have been rich in talent. Orlando has reportedly offered Jameer Nelson and Vince Carter, though Magic GM Otis Smith denied it. And New Jersey, which has had several discussions with the Hornets, has reportedly offered Devin Harris and the No. 3 pick in Thursday's draft. Both trades would give the Hornets good talent and save them money long-term.

While Paul did not say anything about playing with James, it's well-known that the two are close friends who would love to be on the same team. If a club with significant cap room, such as New Jersey, landed Paul, its chances of getting James would certainly increase.

Scherzi a parte ho letto in questi giorni che pure i Magic avrebbero tastato il terreno per CP, ma la dirigenza ha dato riprova di non volerlo svendere (e ci mancherebbe altro). Speriamo in bene..
