siamo in piena striscia negativa!

Phillies announce rotation for Mets series
Roy Halladay will not face New York Mets ace Johan Santana on Sunday at Citizens Bank Park.
The Phillies revealed Tuesday that Kyle Kendrick (0-0, 7.71 ERA) will pitch the series opener against Mets left-hander Jonathon Niese (0-1, 3.68 ERA) on Friday. Halladay (4-1, 1.80 ERA) will face right-hander Mike Pelfrey (4-0, 0.69 ERA) on Saturday, and left-hander Jamie Moyer will face Santana on Sunday.

Rollins, Happ continue to improve
Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said injured shortstop Jimmy Rollins and injured left-hander J.A. Happ continue to make progress, but offered no timetables for their returns.
Rollins is on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right calf. He is eligible to be activated Wednesday, but that will not happen. Rollins is jogging and fielding ground balls. There is a chance he could make a rehab appearance next week.
Happ is on the DL with a strained flexor pronator muscle in his left arm. He is playing catch.
Right-hander Joe Blanton will make a rehab start Wednesday with Double-A Reading. If it goes well, he could join the Phillies rotation next week against the St. Louis Cardinals at Citizens Bank Park.

Utley nearing hits milestone
Chase Utley entered Tuesday's game against the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park with 998 hits in his career. He will become the 32nd player in Phillies history to reach 1,000 hits and the fifth Phillies player in the past 20 years. Jimmy Rollins, Bobby Abreu, Pat Burrell and Mike Lieberthal are the others.
Elias Sports Bureau said the Phillies would be the only National League team in the past 20 years to have five 1,000-hit players. The Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees each have six 1,000-hit players in the past 20 years.

Lidge feels ready for return
Phillies closer cruises through latest rehab appearance
Brad Lidge threw two scoreless innings for Double-A Reading on Tuesday, and the Phillies right-hander said he believes he's "ready to go." Lidge has now gone six consecutive appearances without allowing a run. His velocity, which reached 93 on a chilly and windy evening here, was at a comforting rate, and the 33-year-old closer said he's been pleased with the command of his other pitches.
"I threw my slider in and out," Lidge said. "I got to use all my pitches, and I felt really good."
Lidge has also passed all of the apparent tests for a rehabbing pitcher: He made back-to-back appearances last week and threw two innings Tuesday, with no setbacks in either.
The Phillies return home from a 10-game road trip Friday to face the Mets.
"We'll have to see when they want to activate me," Lidge said. "I'm hoping I'll be activated for that game."

Peccato!!

Lidge to join Phillies' bullpen Friday
After eight rehab appearances, closer heading back to Philly
04/29/10 12:40 PM ET
The Phillies will get their closer back on Friday.
Brad Lidge will be activated prior to the team's series opener against the Mets, which begins a 10-game homestand. To make room on the roster, the Phillies optioned lefty Antonio Bastardo to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Thursday.
Lidge was placed on the DL on March 26 to give him more time to recover from offseason surgery on his right elbow. The 33-year-old right-hander then made eight rehab appearances for the Phillies' Class A, Double-A and Triple-A affiliates, posting a 5.19 ERA but tossing seven scoreless innings over his past six outings.
After throwing two scoreless innings for Double-A Reading on Tuesday, Lidge pronounced himself "ready to go," and the Phillies apparently felt the same way.
Lidge is coming off a rough 2009 season that saw him post a 7.21 ERA while blowing 11 of his 42 save chances. He then logged four scoreless innings to start the postseason before giving up three runs to the Yankees in Game 4 of the World Series.
The 24-year-old Bastardo posted a 1.69 ERA through 5 1/3 innings spanning seven appearances.
After wrapping up a 4-5 road trip, the Phillies are off on Thursday.

Blanton says he's ready to return to Phillies
Rehabbing pitcher allows five runs but feels good
READING, Pa. -- Joe Blanton allowed five runs in five innings in his third rehab start for Double-A Reading on Wednesday, but the Phillies right-hander believes he's ready to return to the Major Leagues whenever the team makes the call.
