PEr le amichevoli di cui parla, si tratta dei cosiddetti "scrimmage": due squadre si mettono d'accordo per fare una specie di allenamento tra loro con regole particolari. I 49ers avevano chiesto l'anno scorso ai Raiders di fare una cosa del genere, ma i "cugini" hanno rifiutat. Quest'anno si e' provato con i Broncos, ma la cosa e' saltata per problemi logistici (credo che non siano riusciti a trovare un albero in citta' )

Vista la prima di preseason contro i broncos, luci ed ombre sulla nostra difesa che reafgisce bene agli attacchi avversari sia su corsa che su passaggio ma che purtroppo sbagli nei placaggi lasciando via libera agli avversari, spero solo che siano solo problemi di preparazione.Per quanto riguarda l'attacco i primi due driveorchestrati hanno fatto vedere un buon timing tra smith e i due ricevitori primari, si vede la mancanza di uno come Gore(mi è piaciuto Clayton come RB)

Anche Hicks mi sembra abbia fatto cose buone prendendo come una furia un buco e correndo per più di 20 yd rompendo forse più di un placcaggio...
Cmq sia secondo voi quanti rb portano a roster? 4? se 3, chi salta? Hicks? Però si è comportato bene come kick ret. l'anno scorso.... :gazza:
Si è vero Hicks ha fatto quella corsa da più di venti yards, ma Clayton mi è piaciuto perchè rassomiglia a Gore va alla ricerca del buco costantemente forse è una mia sensazine visto che và valutato con le difese avversarie titolari ma ha me piace come si muove dietro la line di scrimmage.Per il rosters credo che si deba decidere chi ritorni i kick se un RB o un WR.
Nella giornata in cui si decidono i "Bay Area Bragging Rights" con la solita partitella contro i "cugini di campagna" questo articolo serve forse per prepararci ad un altro anno di "false starts" da parte del nostro amico col n° 77?

Al momento per Noaln il terzo ricevitore dopo Jackson e Battle e' Jacobs. Lelie e' dietro di lui cosi' come Williams, Gilmore e Hill. Se dovessero tenere solo 5 ricevitori, Lelie potrebbe essere tagliato (considerando Williams dentro per i ritorni e Hill perche' e' un rookie scelto al terzo giro)!
La promozione di Willis a "Mike" titolare arriva prima di quello che ci si aspettasse, e non a discapito di Smith ma al posto di Moore, il migliore l'anno scorso. Che sia un modo per stimolare Moore che in quest'inizio di stagione è parso un po' giù di forma?
The 49ers could not keep rookie linebacker Patrick Willis out of the starting lineup any longer.
Willis was elevated to the starting lineup prior to practice Monday morning. He will take over at the starting weak inside linebacker spot ("Mike"), while Derek Smith moves to strong inside linebacker ("Ted"). Brandon Moore will be removed from the starting lineup, coach Mike Nolan revealed this morning.
Willis had been working with the second-team base defense behind Smith. But his play has been so impressive that the 49ers figured they had to get him into the starting lineup. Moore, who led the team with 114 tackles and 6.5 sacks, was demoted.
The move was less about Moore's performance, Nolan said, and more "due to the what the rookie has done." Willis was the No. 11 overall pick in the draft. As a senior at Ole Miss, Willis was named the Butkus Award winner as the best linebacker in the country
Moore said he was disappointed in the move, which came as a surprise when he was informed this morning. Moore admitted he did not play as well as he had hoped in the first two games of the exhibition season. He missed two tackles in the opener, and one more against the Raiders.
"On this level, you're always fighting for survival," Moore said.
The 49ers will not change their nickel pass defense. Willis will remain on the field when the 49ers go with five defensive backs. Moore will be used as pass-rusher at defensive end on nickel downs, which should keep him fresh throughout the game, Nolan said.
Jeff Ulbrich will also switch positions from the "Ted" linebacker to the "Mike," where he'll be No. 2 on the depth chart behind Willis.
Willis said he was excited about the promotion, but said he has a lot of work to do. He said he would not be calling any family or friends because his move into the starting lineup means nothing if he doesn't take advantage of the opportunity. He said those close to him would have to hear about it via news reports.
Willis è stato messo nel ruolo della 3-4 che più si avvicina alle movenze del MLB, in cui potrà (nei limiti dello schema) avere piu' ampio spazio per andare a bloccare, probabile una stagione già da 110 tackles totali.
Moore da quel che ho letto, comunque resterà un'opzione piu' che valida, sia nella nickel in mezzo che come OLB al posto di Banta-Cain

E infatti Lelie ha risposto con una bella prestazione contro i Raiders e si è anche aggiudicato il titolo di Player of the Game dato dai due commentatori dalla CBS.
Grande partita anche di Delanie Walker da cui penso che possiamo aspettarci grandi cose quest' anno. In generale finchè sono stati in campo i titolari dell' attacco mi sono sembrati molto in sincronia e Alex Smith abbastanza padrone della situazione.
Ora però vedremo contro la difesa titolare dei Bears... :D
Comunque ancora per quest' anno i Bay Area Bragging Rights rimangono al posto giusto.

Mi sorprende Jacobs come terzo WR; starà anche avendo un grande TC ma non è un rookie, è un un veterano che in quattro stagioni di NFL ha fatto vedere davvero poco.

Nolan ha ampiamente lodato Jacobs per il suo gioco, dicendo che e' chiaramente il numero 3. Ha dei dubbi invece su Lelie; credo che i WR saranno 6 alla fine se non succede niente di strano...
Se andasse cosi' con il roster mi dispiacerebbe vedere Clayton in practice squad: c'e' sempre il rischio di perderlo

Secondo me chi vincerà il posto di KR o PR fra Hicks o Williams sarà a roster, il perdente a spasso. Io penso vincerà Williams e Hicks a spasso e quindi Clayton a roster. :gazza:

L'anno scorso Hicks riportava i kickoff e Williams i punt. Non credo che ci saranno cambiamenti quest'anno.
In piu', anche se Hicks non facesse piu' il KR, non credo che lo taglierebbero: ancora Robinson non e' un back per tutti i down, quindi la riserva di Gore e' Hicks.
