Sono un po' sorpreso dal taglio di Darnell Bing, ma Kiffin lo ha potuto vedere a USC e un motivo ci sarà.

per Cooper penso abbiano pesato molto le 4 giornate di stop imposte dallo sbirro-Goodell.
Bing paga il fatto di non essere nè carne nè pesce... troppo piccolo per fare l'outside linebacker, troppo lento per fare la safety. Non escludo che possa essere firmato per la practice squad...

improbabile che il giovanotto firmi in tempo per partecipare da subito al training camp, che inizia tra poche ore a Napa...

During the fan practice sessions members of the Gold Rush Cheerleading team and Sourdough Sam also will be in attendance. Participants will have the opportunity to take pictures with one of the team’s Super Bowl trophies. San Francisco 49ers tickets, merchandise and concessions also will be on sale.

The 49ers training facility is located at 4949 Centennial Boulevard in Santa Clara, CA.

In addition, the 49ers have announced that individual tickets for preseason home games go on sale on July 21 at 10:00 a.m. Due to the demand of ongoing season ticket sales a limited number of individual regular-season game tickets will not be available until August.

The 49ers have been sold out for 26 consecutive seasons. The only way to ensure you get tickets to key games for the 2007 season is to buy season tickets. Visit Ticketmaster.com, 49ers.com or 415-GO-49ers to purchase tickets.

Devo dire che invece sono sempre stato tifoso di Bing, mi è piaciuto dai tempi di USC...come SS nelle situazioni di 8 nel box avrebbe dato una mano...certo che per coprirlo l'altra sagety doveva essere il nuovo Flesh Gordon!

anche a me (da fan di USC) è dispiaciuto il taglio di Bing. il ragazzo avrebbe meritato più fortuna con noi, peccato per quell'infortunio che l'ha tenuto fuori per tutto il suo rookie year. spero possa trovare spazio altrove... pare che i 49ers siano in prima linea per aggiudicarselo.

nel frattempo è stato tagliato il tight end Courtney Anderson (un avversario in meno per Zach Miller), ed è arrivato il defensive end Bill Swancutt (rilasciato dai Lions)

alcune note dalla prima giornata di training camp:

- assenti JaMarcus Russell e Zach Miller... per quest'ultimo sembra sia vicina la firma. In ogni caso Kiffin si è detto fiducioso di averli presto a disposizione.
- Derrick Burgess è stato operato di ernia ed è stato messo nella PUP list assieme a Michael Bush, quest'ultimo ancora in fase di recupero dall'infortunio alla gamba. I tempi di recupero per Burgess dovrebbero essere 1-2 settimane, mentre sono ancora incerti quelli per Bush.
- Robert Gallery è stato schierato per l'intera sessione come left guard della prima squadra. Questa lo schieramento titolare della linea offensiva visto ieri: Barry Sims (LT), Robert Gallery (LG), Jake Grove (C), Cooper Carlisle (RG), Cornell Green (RT). Questo invece quello della seconda squadra: Mario Henderson (LT), Paul McQuistan (LG), Jeremy Newberry (C), Kevin Boothe (RG), Mark Wilson (RT).
- Josh McCown e Andrew Walter si sono alternati come qb della prima squadra. Il primo è stato più convincente nelle bootleg e nei rollouts, il secondo nella tasca.
- il rookie wide receiver Johnnie Lee Higgins ha fatto vedere buone cose ed è stato provato come punt returner.
- Donovin Darius e Stuart Schweigert si sono alternati come free safety della prima squadra.
- si è rivisto finalmente in campo Mike Williams.
- con Derrick Burgess out, la linea difensiva della prima squadra è stata: Kevin Huntley (RE), Terdell Sands (DT), Warren Sapp (DT) e Tommy Kelly (LE).
