beh, in realtà il sack è, se vuoi, "umiliante", ma non ti fa perdere direttamente punti. Un intercetto, potenzialmente, ti può anche far perdere punti

The Steelers will have all of their rookies in training camp tomorrow after coming to a five-year contract agreement with first-round draft choice Lawrence Timmons this afternoon.

Timmons signed a five-year contract that is worth slightly less than $12 million in base pay and up to $15 million, including incentives. He will receive various guaranteed bonuses of $8,053,000 that includes signing and roster bonuses.

"We think it was very important to get Lawrence signed on time to give him an opportunity to reach his immense potential," said his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. "Obviously, Mike Tomlin's in his first training camp and Lawrence is his first draft pick as head coach and we wanted him to be there. He's off to a great start."

Complimenti allo squalo che, zozzerie a parte, è uno che tende a far contenti i suoi assistiti.
Molto alta la percentuale di garantito rispetto al totale del contratto.
Timmons è stato paragonato a Derrick Brooks come tipo di giocatore - speriamo che il ragazzo sappia farsi valere.
Anche quest'anno tutte le matricole saranno presenti all'apertura del training camp: complimenti anche al front office

C'è stato concesso di partire prima perchè giochiamo la partita a Canton del 5 agosto - avversari i Saints - e anche - se non erro - perchè abbiamo cambiato coach.

The Steelers agreed to a contract extension today with safety Troy Polamalu, assuring one of their best players will remain in Pittsburgh for a while longer.

Polamalu signed a five-year contract worth $33 million, making him the highest-paid Steeler and highest-paid safety in the NFL. He will receive bonuses -- including signing and roster -- of $15,375,000.

Polamalu, who has made every Pro Bowl since he became the Steelers starting strong safety in 2004, had one year left on the contract he signed as a rookie in 2003.

Magari qualcuno dirà che gli hanno dato troppo, ma ora come ora sono troppo contento del fatto che Taz resti in da Burgh...il #43 con un'altra maglia sarebbe stata una pugnalata alla schiena.
Il signing bonus è nelle previsioni...il più alto della storia della franchigia, ma non un'enormità.
Da vedere nel dettaglio come è strutturato il contratto, ma ci vorrà ancora qualche ora.

Ripeto...è la ciliegiona sulla torta di una off-season filata via liscia come l'olio

Starks: 20% - è tutto nelle sue mani, la franchigia ha deciso di concedergli una chance importante al termine di una stagione scandalosa; spero che Willie Colon possa emergere e affermarsi come RT titolare
Simmons: 50% - Frozen Foot pare abbia avuto una primavera molto promettente, lui che per solito è un pigro e va costantemente pungolato; Zierlein ha già speso qualche bella parola sul suo conto...incrociamo le dita: ha tutto per fare il suo lavoro al meglio ed è uno che in quella linea ci sta già da qualche anno. Ri-trovarselo come titolare sarebbe un bel colpo
Kreider: 0% - gli voglio bene, ma non serve più a questa squadra, tecnicamente e per il rapporto qualità prezzo che da un paio d'anni non è dalla sua parte

Faneca: nessuna percentuale; ha già la penna in mano per firmare il contratto che gli garantirà una pensione dorata...però è un professionista come ormai non se ne vedono tanti nel business e quest'anno lo dimostrerà ancora, semmai ce ne fosse il bisogno
