Re: Il Lato Giusto Della Baia - cecaro come Michelangelo!
The club signed fourth-round pick Jay Moore to a four-year contract. Moore was a defensive end at Nebraska, but he's being converted to outside linebacker as a rookie.
Moore is back in town for the 49ers' offseason workout program. The four-year contract is the longest deal a player selected after the first round can sign. Only a handful of draft picks around the league have already signed contracts. The Bears are leading the way, as they've signed five of their nine draft picks. Moore is the first of the 49ers' nine draft picks to sign on the dotted line.
Moore was the No. 104 overall pick in the draft. Terms of his deal were not immediately known, but last year's selection in the same spot, Cory Rodgers of the Packers, signed a four-year, $2.075 million deal. (Coincidentally, the Packers later waived Rodgers and the 49ers signed him to their practice squad, where he lasted four three weeks before they released him, too.)
After his first minicamp, I asked Moore how things were going. He said he felt good about the adjustment he was making the adjustment to the new position.
"There's a lot of new terminology to learn," Moore said. "At defensive end, you don't have to make any calls, just listen for them. Here, I'm making calls and understanding formations a little more. That was tough, but it's coming along a little. I'm learning the ropes."
He is going from lining up with a hand on the ground to standing up. Fortunately, he's learning from Hall of Fame linebacker Mike Singletary, while also getting help from the other linebackers, and outside linebackers coach Jason Tarver.
"Learning from Coach Singletary is great," Moore said. "He's one of best linebackers ever. He's a stickler for perfection."

By the way, I saw this week where I was cited in several spots for a report about teams that are showing interest in guard Justin Smiley. That was an old report. I have nothing new to report on Smiley contract or trade talks.

Altro rookie firmato:
Defensive tackle Joe Cohen, a fourth-round pick from Florida, signed a four-year contract today with the 49ers. He becomes the second draft pick to sign with the 49ers in two days. On Wednesday, the 49ers and fellow fourth-round pick Jay Moore reached an agreement.
Terms of Cohen's contract were not immediately available.
Cohen, the No. 135 overall pick in the draft, was chosen with the compensatory selection the 49ers received for losing Andre Carter to the Redskins through free agency last year.
Cohen started 12 games for the national champions as a senior. As a freshman in 2003, he played in eight games on offense as a fullback. He switched to defensive line as a sophomore, starting all 12 games.
He bulked up as a senior and moved to defensive tackle. He had 26 tackles with two stops behind the line of scrimmage, and a half-sack. Cohen is expected to compete for playing time at nose tackle in the 49ers' new 3-4 scheme behind starter Aubrayo Franklin. He is likely to compete with Isaac Sopoaga for playing time.
Cohen was a Parade All-American as a senior at Palm Bay Senior High in Melbourne, Fla. He was a SuperPrep All-American and was considered the nation's top fullback. He rushed for 1,126 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior.
When the 49ers drafted him, he said he weighed somewhere around 310 or 315 pounds. He credits Florida teammate Ray McDonald, a defensive end the 49ers selected in the third round, for helping him make a smooth transition to defense.
"At first I was thought to be an offensive player at Florida," he said. "I never really played defense in high school, so when I moved over (McDonald) helped me out a lot, coached me up on stuff like pass moves, how to put my hand on an opponent, just little stuff that's made me the player I am today. I know it's going to make me even better in the future."
The 49ers have now signed two of their nine draft picks. The 49ers are scheduled to report to training camp on July 28, with the first practice set for the 29th.
Currently, the 49ers are going through their offseason conditioning program. They have organized team activities set for 12 days over the first three weeks of June.

Qualche notizia importante ci sarebbe.
